  1. Are the Bills as bad as they looked against Denver - or do they have everything fixed after they looked better against the Jags for the start of the game last night? Let's see what happens once the regular season starts. My hope is .500 or better for this year. Yes, that means that they will have to be competitive and right here in the tough AFC East where the Bills have not been great (especially against NE).
  2. The Bills are saving their money now - so that next year they can sign Andrew Luck...
  3. Relax, if that doesn't work, Chris Kelsay will be moved to offensive tackle...
  4. It could be worse...OBD could wait until a mere two or three weeks before the start of the regular season to determine that their OL will not contribute in a positive way to the life expectancy of their QBs - or to the offense in general.
  5. There are only four first-rounders left on the team (the more recent draft picks by the Bills): Leodis McKelvin (2008), Eric Wood (2009), C.J. Spiller (2010) and Marcell Dareus (2011) 9 of Buffalo's last 13 first-rounders selected are now no longer with the team: Nate Clements, Mike Williams, Willis McGahee, Lee Evans, J.P. Losman, Donte Whitner, John McCargo, Marshawn Lynch and Aaron Maybin. Right now, McKelvin and Spiller are not looking like the type of impact players you like to see after being drafted so high.

(Ralph Wilson) 2010 Buffalo Bills - "Well, it is what it is. Everybody can see it, it's very painful" (Ralph Wilson) 2010 Buffalo Bills - "It's going to take time. And I've said that from the beginning." (Ralph Wilson) 2010 Buffalo Bills - "It's going to take another three years until we get to turn this thing around." 7. This conversation comes up often because RW has not made any plans to keep the team in Buffalo and the team will go to the highest bidder. Blend in a depressed WNY economy and an old stadium and people have reason to be concerned. This will likely come down to how the math plays out with questions like: · Who buys the team and will they be committed to the area (e.g. Kelly Group)? · How much would it then cost to move the team? · Can/will WNY taxpayers continue to subsidize RW? · Can/will WNY taxpayers help fund a new stadium? · Are there other teams where the relocation math might be better (before the Bills are targeted)? The Bills would likely draw better from Rochester and Syracuse if they were geographically in a better spot – like near the Thruway at Darien Lake for example – with a new multi-purpose stadium.
  8. Billieve it or not, since the Jets games are after the bye, my thought is that the Bills will be gelled enough to get their Offense rolling points-wise - where the Jets might not be able to keep up. Sanchez shouldn't scare the Bills and Brad Smith could have huge games against the Jets.
  9. Hope I am wrong - but on the road at Arrowhead, musical chairs on OL and the Chiefs are a tough running team with Jamaal Charles, Thomas Jones and former Ravens FB Le'Ron McClain.
  10. If this team has any chance of turning things around, it has to start with good players and coaches. I don't care if the Bills blew 9 of their last 13 top picks - if they now have coaches and scouts that can get the job done. This includes someone savvy on game days who can find a way to win with the talent available.
  11. Chan will hopefully get this sorted out and bring someone else if needed, but he needs to see what he has first and doesn't have too much time left.
  12. The Bills could actually go 9-7 (.500 or better would be great): 09/11 @ Kansas City Chiefs - L 09/18 OAKLAND RAIDERS - W 09/25 NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS - L 10/02 @ Cincinnati Bengals - W 10/9 PHILADELPHIA EAGLES - L 10/16 @ New York Giants - L 10/23 BYE 10/30 WASHINGTON REDSKINS (TOR) - W 11/06 NEW YORK JETS - W 11/13 @ Dallas Cowboys - L 11/20 @ Miami Dolphins - W 11/27 @ New York Jets - W 12/04 TENNESSEE TITANS - W 12/11 @ San Diego Chargers - L 12/18 MIAMI DOLPHINS - W 12/24 DENVER BRONCOS - W 1/01 @ New England Patriots - L
  13. He joins the rest of some other Bill's wasted # 1 picks as they did not perform as expected (impact players) drafted so high: Eric Flowers, Mike Williams, J.P. Losman, John McCargo Hopefully we have most all of the dead weight off of this team now and can move onward and upward. Go Bills!
  14. This team has had few superstars recently...I remember when the late blooming Moulds was the best player on the field and then McGee stood out for a while...Moorman might have been the most recognized (he has been on the field quite a bit during his tenure with the Bills). Maybe Dareus will be a star...I really hope so. All the Bills need to do this year is break .500 then move onward and upward to the playoffs. Go CHIX! Go Bills!
  15. Things have got to be on the upswing now as miss-fired #1 Bills picks have been fired from the team. Sure, some damage has been done, but the bleeding should come to an end (less some salary cap hits) and the Bills should now be moving onward and upward. Go Bills!
  16. It would be great to break the streak of 15 consecutive loses against the same team in your division and be competitive before another coaching staff is brought in (since it appears that the Bill's change their staff every three years) - Chan might need more time to turn this thing around. Go Bills
  17. With any Luck, it could be about QB.
  18. hopefully better than last year...maybe who we have now can be coached up.
  19. Right, this thing won't be fixed overnight...we are on the 15 year plan. Here's hoping Gailey pulls it out - as he is the latest guy on the Bill's three year (or less) coaching carousel cycle to give it a shot. Gregg Williams 2001–2003 .354 Mike Mularkey 2004–2005 .438 Dick Jauron 2006–2009 .421 Perry Fewell 2009 .429 Chan Gailey 2010- .250 Go Bills!
  20. Competing in the division would be good (that would mean better than 4-12 or something like .500) - figuring that the Bills (on average) change their coaching staff every three years, it would be good to have better results sooner rather than later - before we have to "rebuild" again. This after so many years of being owned by NE. Let's go Buffalo!
  21. The Bills have not been able to compete against the Pats in the AFC East in quite some time. For every improvement the Bills make, the Pats seem to counter every year with Belichick adjustments. Will this be the year that the Bills beat the Pats? The Bills own the record for losing the most consecutive times to one team in the history of the NFL and the fact has been that the Bills just need to be able to beat New England if they ever want a whiff of the post-season play. Surely CHIX knows this and by now has made the correct adjustments to compete in the trenches and/or have coached the OL to the point where Buffalo can beat the Pats in 2011. Heck, the Bills have probably improved so much that their record listed below will soon become a distant memory - right? 12/27/03: Patriots 31, Bills 0 10/03/04: Patriots 31, Bills 17 11/14/04: Patriots 29, Bills 6 10/30/05: Patriots 21, Bills 16 12/11/05: Patriots 35, Bills 7 09/10/06: Patriots 19, Bills 17 10/22/06: Patriots 28, Bills 6 09/23/07: Patriots 38, Bills 7 11/18/07: Patriots 56, Bills 10 11/09/08: Patriots 20, Bills 10 12/28/08: Patriots 13, Bills 0 09/14/09: Patriots 25, Bills 24 12/20/09: Patriots 17, Bills 10 09/26/10: Patriots 38, Bills 30 12/26/10: Patriots 34, Bills 3
  22. Right, I should have titled the post: “Some Observations”. Anyway my point was/is that: yes the Wannstedt improved defense really does look improved (good news - even if playing against the catch-up 1st team OL) - but it looks like the talent on the OL is not there - which could hinder the offense – right? I clearly stated "Let’s see how this plays out." Maybe we can coach up who we have or CHIX could still make a deal (it just seems like year after year, more could have been done to improve the OL to keep moving the chains and not getting our QBs pummeled into the ground – which would take less heat off of the D). Go Bills!
  23. Yeah, camp has been great for the defense and before you think this defense is so improved, consider that fact that the Bills offense has regressed. yes, it means little if you have a boatload of QBs, WRs and RBs, but have little or no help at pass protection or run blocking. How many years do we have to wait until the OL is addressed? ...trying to be optimistic, let’s see what happens in the next couple of practice games which will be soon upon us. Maybe it will not look like the Bills will once again need multiple QBs after they get the s#it beat out of them for yet another season. Maybe it won't be sooo painfully obvious that LT is such a position of need again...after all, CHIX can't be that blind - right?
  24. It would be great if he could cover kicks or something (instead of taking up a roster spot) and not to rub salt, but McCargo was a big waste also.
  25. How about the two sides come to an agreement...does anyone know how far apart they are? The owners want another X percent more of the profit and the players don't want to give it to them - right? Seems like there should be a compromise - because nobody wins when season is canceled. The nation's fans will focus on watching college ball and CFL fantasy leagues will start popping up. This issue should be settled by now after so many months of millionaires vs. millionares?
