Stallworth was slightly over the legal limit
VOR replied to lets_go_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Naw, they should just dismiss is as a "terrible accident." And he reportedly had blood drawn twice, an hour apart. The 0.14 was probably the first and the 0.12 the second. If that's true, he obviously lied about his alcohol intake. Which is odd because people who talk immediately ALWAYS tell the truth. Right Mr. WEO? -
I really think that DT Shaun Rogers could be had in a trade.
VOR replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sure it would. Rogers made the Pro Bowl last year. Adding him after adding TO would definitely have people talking even more than before. -
A large celestial body on the radar...

The Lions cut Leigh Bodden. And the Pats signed Deltha O'Neal and Lewis Sanders last year. How'd that work out for them? -
It wouldn't surprise me. The owners (well, most of them ) really screwed the pooch with the last CBA.
-
Given what the players got in return, i.e. 5% more in total revenue, it wasn't a hard thing to accept. But in the next round of talks...

A large celestial body on the radar...

Why would the Bills want him? He was "tossed away" by his old team, and he's got suspension and injury issues. -
Well, he can do what he wants, but the NFLPA will fight him and he knows this. And reportedly the new NFLPA director is going to try to stop Goodell's one-man show when it comes to suspending players.

If that's what it takes to keep drunk chicks from damaging his car...

He said he's a "target" of the police?

More than 1 game missed would be a farce. Again based on Marshall's case. The best answer I can give you is it seems like he would also be smoking, but then again, he might not have. You would think that Michael Phelps would know better than to smoke pot at a party. And that's assuming there was in fact pot. I still don't buy the "no one admitted it was his" and "it isn't worth it..." excuses for not charging him with pot possession, since it was his car and since Holmes got nailed for it. Why not just give Lynch a warning about the gun, that everyone knows was for protection, and charge him with pot instead? But Goodell can believe what he wants and order Lynch into step 1 of the drug program. And if he fails a test, he's in big trouble.

If Banks is right, Peters' salary parameters will ...

Shoulda given him a new contract prior to the draft last year. -
I just can't see that what Lynch did (again, forgetting the incident last year which was a "terrible accident" and the pot allegations in light of him never having failed a drug test) as being even as bad as what Brandon Marshall did, and Marshall just missed 1 game. That's why I say that he has an outside chance at 1 game reduced to no suspension and just a fine. It was a wholly victimless crime, but one for which he'll be on probation for 3 years.
-
I'm guessing 2 games reduced to 1, with an outside chance at 1 game reduced to a hefty fine.
-
It's not semantics. Lynch was never charged with felony gun possession, period. He was arrested and booked on suspicion of felony gun charges, but was never formally charged with a felony. And you're right that they don't offer 2 plea deals. It was just the three misdemeanors down to one, as Lori just pointed-out to me.
-
Okay Lori, you got me. But I meant a plea deal from a felony to the one misdemeanor, which is a MUCH bigger step than from three misdemeanors down to one. Lynch received the plea deal to reduce the three misdemeanors to one in exchange for admitting guilt and avoiding trial, as anyone in that situation would do and as the DA would like to see done. And that had nothing to do with the pot allegations.
-
Lynch was charged with 3 misdemeanors. Go look it up. He was never charged with a felony. And his lawyer was "positively elated" because he wasn't involved in the process, much less involved in any plea deal. Had he worked-out a plea deal, he would have admitted as such. And again there has been NO report of a plea deal. Show me one, anywhere. As for the Culver City police being crooked, take your pick. Either they fabricated the pot charges, or totally ignored them for some unknown reason (sorry but "it adds nothing" is a worthless excuse), while (I guess non-crooked) police in other cities actually DO charge people, NFL players in fact, with pot possession. And again, Lynch has never failed a drug test. So even if there was pot in the car, you can claim that he was smoking, but without failing a drug test, there's no proof of that and instead proof to the contrary. But hey, if he fails a drug test, I'll be all over him, as will the Commish. Oh and your paragon of DWI vehicular injury, Donte Stallworth, lied about his alcohol intake. Funny because I thought that if you talked immediately, you were innocent?

Could be a 2-way player. Just kidding.

Makes one wonder how Leonard Little got off so easy. -

We both know he was lying. As I said before, I'd have more respect for him if he didn't say anything, rather than come out with a lie. And I'm sure you got my point that coming out and talking immediately doesn't mean you're innocent, while not talking doesn't mean you're guilty. -

So Stallworth talked immediately after the "terrible accident"...and lied. I was hoping he was telling the truth and that the alcohol was out of his system by then. Because in either case, the victim is still dead and nothing can be done to bring him back. But now Stallworth's life is ruined as well. -
She signed a post-nup. Why does anyone bother with these things if they're so meaningless?
-
The gold-digger shouldn't even get the $43M.

I'd say there's still no urgency to sign an OLB until the draft, since neither June nor Keiaho are receiving interest anywhere. That way they can see if any other LB's become available, like Peterson did.
