Battlestar Galatica final - what do you think of it?
VOR replied to BillsWatch's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I didn't get why Chief was so pissed-off when Tory was revealed to him to have killed Cali. Just after she died, Chief went-off on Adama saying that she was the best of limited choices (because he was still pining for Boomer), and then later-on he learned she cheated on him. -
Huh? He's averaged almost 45 catches and 600 yards the past 2 years.

Ralph Wilson Not At Owner's Meetings
VOR replied to BillsGuyInMalta's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, at least BSPN won't have Ralpie to kick around when the owners agree to give 70% of total revenue to the players. -
Fine was supposed to be a good blocker coming out of college and is largely untested as a receiver in the NFL. I didn't mean to suggest he's a dud as a receiver, just that Fine could fill the blocker role while Scheffler filled the receiver role.

Fine would be the Bills' blocking TE.

Browns WR Donte Stallworth involved in a FATALITY

LOL! I'd like to see that kind of scrutiny being applied to the high and mighty "grown ups" here on TBD. -

And you'd leave your car out in the driveway? Like I said, that's some pretty deep thought for a guy who is impaired and as stupid as many here make him out to be (and as he may be, given the arrest for the gun). -
Who has better receivers, overall, Bills or Pats?
VOR replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gee, ya think? Would we even be talking about the Pats WR's if it weren't for the Raiders being dumb enough to trade Moss there for a 4th rounder? Would you consider say, Welker, Gaffney, and Galloway as good as Evans, Reed, and TO? And for all the guff you give TO, Moss had as bad a reputation for being a cancer in the lockerroom, and also had motivation issues when he wasn't getting the ball. He also had some off-field issues, like "mowing-down" that meter maid. But I guess that's not as bad as an alleged "suicide attempt." -
Browns WR Donte Stallworth involved in a FATALITY

Why would he need to call a lawyer? If he was impaired and knew he hit the vic and ran, cops were pounding on his door, and he knew they couldn't come in without a warrant, he'd be contacting his lawyer sooner rather than later. After being first contacted by the Bills' head of security, he contacted his lawyer. And in the text messages to him, there were no incriminating messages like "I hit someone and left the scene." But I suppose it was all luck that no one saw Lynch drinking, it appeared on video that he didn't know he hit someone, and that he didn't do anything except for cower behind his door for hours after the accident. -

That's a lot of deep thought for a guy who is supposed to be impaired. And it's odd that he didn't try and initiate contact with anyone, like his lawyer. -
Moving the draft up and before FA would be a ton of sense, regardless of the economic (including the CBA) climate.

Without getting blood samples from Lynch within a few hours of the accident, the time course after that didn't matter. But again, the fact that he didn't contact anyone and had to be contacted by the head of security tells me that he was sleeping and wasn't cowering in fear and looking for advice because he knew he had done wrong and felt guilty. Plus I think that Steve Johnson has enough sense to not get into a car with someone who is impaired. -
Now that the dust has settled on the T.O. pick up
VOR replied to macaroni's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The offense was the biggest problem with the team last year. It certainly wasn't ST's (except for arguably the 49'ers game). And despite the loss of Schobel (and thus the only semblance of a pass rush the Bills had) for 11 games, starting (i.e. top-3) DB's for 19 games, and the lack of LB'er depth, the defense kept the Bills in virtually every game last year, save for the Cards game. So it makes sense to try and improve the biggest problem area. The Bills addressed WR and center and have options at LG and LB, both in FA and the draft. -

Well that would be an interesting question. If there were evidence that Lynch had downed a bottle of JD just moments before hitting the vic, would that have made a difference or not? I think it would have, both legally AND public opinion-wise. I certainly wouldn't be defending him if that were the case. But without anyone seeing him drink, I cannot make the claim that he was impaired when he hit the vic. That is the biggest assumption of all, because the majority of people who go out to bars don't drink/enough to become impaired while driving home. -

VOR replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Until proven otherwise, I'd take Moss, Welker, and Galloway over Evans, TO, and Reed/Parrish/Johnson/Hardy, especially with Brady tossing the rock to the former group. But there's a lot of age with the Pats' WR's, they have a new OC, and Brady is coming-off an injury so.... -

If the Cards are willing to trade him and he wants out, who ELSE is pursuing him? There have been no reports of anyone being interested, much less his visiting other teams. And while some conveniently choose to ignore it, while blasting TO for doing the same, his sideline rant during the game-winning drive in the NFCCG really knocked-him down in the eyes of many. -

Everything I've presented to you is evidence, not assumptions. Assumptions is believing he was drunk with no one seeing him drink (do you REALLY think the cops didn't investigate the accident? Really?); or assuming he saw and heard her even though the footage never shows him slowing down after hitting her with his (actually) side-view mirror, which is the universal reaction to hearing or seeing something hit your car; or believing he knew the cops were at his house, yet no contact with ANYONE, not even mom, until the Bills' director of security contacted him four hours later because the police couldn't get through to Lynch. The DA had no case against Lynch except failure to avoid hitting a pedestrian. Everyone was satisfied with the outcome of the case, even the vic's lawyer. And even the cops offered-up the "he didn't know he hit her" defense. Time to move past it. -

Actually PtP, I'm using the evidence, or lack thereof, to prove my case. You and others only have assumptions on which to go. When you start tossing-out the "he HAD to have been drinking" or "he HAD to have known he hit her," or "he HAD to have heard the cops knocking," you've got a weak argument. I'll "simply" rest on the facts that no one saw Lynch drinking, there were distractions that night that prevented him from seeing and hearing her hit his car, and he didn't contact anyone for hours after the accident, much less provide incriminating evidence. -

Sorry but adding a guy who had 69 receptions for 1,052 yards and 10 TD's, while his QB (the only competent one on the roster) missed 3 games is NOT a marketing move. That was just a side benefit. And the move wasn't supposed to be THE only move to put them over the top and get them to the playoffs. They signed a center they feel will be a good one. The only other options were someone overpriced (Brown), highly overrated (Groves), and who only wanted to play for 2 teams (Birk). But still, it was a move the Bills felt would improve them. At LG, Goff, Simmons, and Bentley are still out there. The closer to the draft we get, the less their market value becomes. So don't be surprised if one is signed sooner rather than later. The same goes for LB. June and Keiaho have no other offers. And a signing of one of them is probably going to happen sooner rather than later as well. The draft will be about adding line, LB, and TE help. -
Thank you. The idea that cops are beyond reproach is naivety at best. And Lynch has no say in whether he's entered into the substance abuse program, any more than he has a say in whether he's suspended or not. He can plead his case, but the ultimate decision rests with the Commish.

Stallworth was slightly over the legal limit

Yes, pretty simple.
