  1. A million dollars! How about 1.4 for the OSU/Colorado barn burner next year. A million dollars is pretty damn reasonable for a college football team that isnt asking for a home and home. http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/story/13813385/buffaloes-to-take-in-14-million-for-2011-game-at-ohio-state
  2. Did not see that. But if so, thats freaking awesome. I like to imagine my new favorite bill in a t-shirt tuxedo because it says I want to be formal, but I'm here to party.
  3. Wow, dont you think thats a bit harsh? I dont like him because he isnt a good QB, but he really hasnt done anything other than say something dumb in front of the media.
  4. Bills Bonds - Nice website and a pretty damned good idea. Just spent a few minutes thinking about potential tax issues (I'm a CPA) associated with this plan and one thing that you may want to consider is the IRS imputing interest for a below market rate loan (meaning you are taxed on the difference between the market rate and the reduced rate). Generally you only see this in related party transactions (brother-sister, father-son, etc.) but I could see this being a potential speed bump. Worst case is the potential buyers would see the benefit reduced by approx 38-40% depending on state tax rates. If you have any questions on potential tax implications of your plan, Id be happy to assist. Thanks for thinking outside the box!
  5. I think its time to pass the bong. You've had enough.
  6. I agree with the previous poster that says it wasnt conclusive. However, I also think it may be time to move on.
  7. I would argue that when your team is 0-6 there are certainly moral victories.
  8. Joe DeLamielleure who lives down here in Charlotte called up a local radio show and suggested the same thing, FWIW.
  9. If we find ourselves picking with Luck on the board he's ours. Clearly the best prospect in this draft. The kid has great size, a great arm, mobility, from all accounts is intelligent and has been coached by one of the best QB coaches in the country. If you have an opportunity watch him play, he looks like a young John Elway (without the freakish arm). Question is whether he is coming out early or not.
  10. Right now the Panthers are worse than us. The offense down here in Charlotte is simply pathetic. It actually makes me feel slightly less sick about our own.
  11. Butterfly Effect. But seriously. Bills fans have got to be some of the biggest damn headcases in the world. I find myself changing jerseys when they suck hoping that a new jersey will change the way they play. My wife thinks I'm insane. Tend to agree with her.
  12. Here is an interesting question. If the Bills do get a very high draft pick (top 3) and then we dont have football next season due to a lockout, how does that affect the draft order for the 2012 season? Would we get the same high draft pick?? Does the CBA dictate whether we have rights to the player we drafted in 2011?
  13. Went to the game last night and two things stuck out - Sanchez was horrific against a solid but not spectacular Carolina D and the very average Carolina recievers were consistently getting open against the Jets DB's. Matt Moore wasnt hitting anyone however.
  14. IMHO not totally accurate. First, its generally 10 events when you include preseason (Granted who knows what’s going to happen with the Toronto situation.) Second, a sliding dome would allow the option of holding more events, such as the NCAA tournament. Your point remains that a large portion of the year it remains empty, which is true. But you forget about corporate events, conferences, etc. that could potentially be held at the new stadium. I live in Charlotte, which has a downtown stadium, and the firm I work for holds our annual meeting at the stadium every year. Additionally, the Lions stadium actually has office space overlooking the field (would not be a huge fan of this.) The surface lot problem should not be a problem due to all the surface lots that exist for the working population that parks downtown every day. Since NFL games are played on Sunday, you generally don’t have to compete for parking space. Finally, NFL stadiums tend to liven up parts the areas they go into. Take for example the Charlotte stadium. Within 4 years of the stadium going in real estate prices increased nearly 25% due to people moving into the area who wanted to walk to the NFL games. New restaurants, bars and local amenities soon followed.
  15. Thanks for the update! I have to say from looking at the buffalobills.com highlights, from what little I saw Levi thows a good looking ball. Of course that means squat right now. But it should be interesting to see how he progresses.
  16. As an App. Alum I've seen him play every game throughout his collegiate career. A few notes: Personal: He's a very humble, intelligent kid. About as blue collar as you are going to find. Graduated in 3.5 years cum laude. Came from a pretty poor family in S.C. father is in jail for killing a guy in a bar fight. Mother was pretty much the only family he had. He has married his high school sweet heart and had a child during his Junior year. In the locker room, he was the undisputed leader, although he is not incredibly vocal. Athletics: He’s more quick than he is fast (that being said still ran a 4.4 forty.) He dominated the minute he stepped on the field as a freshman. Injured his shoulder during fall workouts before the Michigan game, played through the pain, but missed two weeks after that. Injured his foot during a freak lawn mower accident before his senior year. First two years he was a run first QB, but mentality shifted towards developing pocket presence and passing number significantly increased. Ran out of the spread offense the entire time he was in college. To this day, I have not seen him under center, even in a victory formation. Has a good arm, can make all the throws, above average arm strength, very good at dropping the throw where it needs to be. Overall: A spectacular player to watch, as exciting as they come. Height/Size is a concern, Has all the tools to be a QB in the NFL, with the exception of his height. That said, he is the prototypical return man. Has been working on running routes and by all accounts has come a long way. My guess is he is drafted in the 5th or 6th round. For those that may be concerned about him playing in Buffalo after going to a North Carolina school, Boone has a pretty similar temperature profile to Buffalo. Doesn’t get quite as cold, but tends to be more windy.
  17. For those that have some time, here is a link to the various police reports: The Smoking Gun At a minimum, not the way a franchise QB should be acting (especially after being accused of Rape before.)
  18. 1) Jimmy Clausen 2) Terrence Cody 3) Kyle Calloway
  19. Prediction: Clausen will be there at number 9. I will have a beer in my hand ready to celebrate when Goodell stats uttering, "With the 9th pick in the 2010 draft, the Buffalo Bills select..." Instead of hearing "Jimmy Clausen" we will hear "Dan Williams". I’ll get pissed off and my wife, will ask, "who is Dan Williams". I will reply, "Don't really know a lot about him." I’ll turn off the draft and go to bed pissed off. It’s going to be Donte Whitner all over again. I can feel it.
