Why?

 

It was used in everything years ago. I worked at Dubel's Deli and we used on the top round for the roast beef (with a piece of suet).

 

MSG does nothing else than enhance flavor. So if you added it to something that tastes like shiit to begin with, retatta for example, it will make it taste shiitier.
