Cutler trade and how it changes the dynamics of the draft

Well I'll be the first to play devil's advocate and say it:

I'm probably wrong again but I'm not totally convinced that the Broncos will covet a quarterback. Here's why:

Kyle Orton can be their bridge quarterback for a year or two. Denver has torn down their team a la the Kansas City Chiefs last year and are under no pressure to win immediately. Everyone knows they are rebuilding both offense and defense.

Secondly, wonder boy Josh McDaniels allegedly did a great job developing Matt Cassell last year. Now he has the opportunity to do the same with Chris Simms, a guy who hasn't gotten a fair shake yet due to his speenectomy spleenectomy and Gruden's strange compulsive quarterback games.

So that's why I feel QB is not a slam dunk for Denver.

As for if Cutler had ended up with the Jets, it might have been a great move for them or it could have been one of the spectacular train wrecks in recent NFL history. We'll never know.

fixed....(I had a spleenectomy, so I had to jump in and correct it... )

And yes, as I posted in other posts, I think our slot has become red hot for a trade and we could parlay it into a nice bounty...

Our slot doesn't become interesting until we are on the clock...which could be very interesting.

I am actually more concerned now that Freeman might go to the Jets. I think he has major size, good arm, and mobility. He'll be better than Cutler in a couple years.

Freeman disappeared at K State against good teams.

Sanchez moved up on many boards after his USC pro day, lots now have him ahead of Stafford. Mike Mayock has stated he thinks Sanchez might end up being the best of this years QB class.

If Sanchez is there at #11 I'd hope the Bills take him and trade him or trade that pick for more picks, clearly the Redskins went after Cutler so they are not happy with Jason Campbell.

on another note, I'd think that Denver would be better off just taking Freeman with the 12th pick

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Jets try to trade up to our #11 before Denver's pick.

ASTROBOT

what would the Jet's have to give us in return to make it a fair trade, assuming that this year's 1st rounder is part of the deal?

Two questions I have:

What do you think we could get from the Jets for our #11 pick? (if they want to get one of the QB's before DEN does)

What do you think we could get from the Broncos for our #11 pick? (if they want to ensure no one else trades up to get a QB before their #12)

Obviously, this would depend a bunch on what goes down in the first ten picks on draft day.
