Bad news apparently coming for Habs/fans

after a quick scan of that thread, it looks like organized crime. the players may not have been directly involved but are associated with someone in organized crime. primarily Hamrlik, and the Kostitsyn brothers. Carey Price's name has been tossed around here and there but I havent read much about it.

Still very interesting.

That's pretty much it for now. They said it would be a bombshell that would rock the organization.

With all due respect to the media (as if they deserve any), Theo came from a family of loansharks who used his cash to help his family lend and eventually, charge ridiculous rates. This is nothing. In the NFL, these guys would barely even get an article on page 129.

Time will tell. Montreal a city of a robust nightlife, it no great surprise young men idolized for what they do, would attend parties and functions and meet up with all kinds of individuals. Its most likely in any professional sports city and every team players meet up with and have contact with individuals of questionable character, some players are wise enough to navigate through this, others get ensnared. Sometimes they simply let their guard down, sometimes they as young men make impulsive bad decisions. We shall see in this case, are they in wrong by bad decision and association or are they just wrong.

foreign organized crime and NHL players is nothing new. this isnt really surprising.

just goes to show, whether you are talking about NFL players who came up in an American ghetto, or NHL players who came up in poor foreign countries... both are raised in an environment where crime is prevalent due to poverty, and it's tough for them to shake when you have family still in that area, and people from that area following your money.
