If I remember correctly, after 9/11, he signed a few gun laws banning automatic weapons, escorted a couple young girls to get abortions, raised a few taxes, embraced some illegal immigrants, tried to marry another cousin of his and then moved in with two gay guys before divorcing his second wife. His great acts of leadership generally took place prior to 9-11. Anyone who lived or worked in NYC prior to and after his term in office can attest to the dramatic improvement of the quality of life on many fronts. Crime rates, tourism, economic development, construction projects, neighborhood revitialization, dramatic reduction of Mob influence; all improved under Rudy. Of course, the city's left wing media hated him and harped endlessly on minor distractions because he wouldn't give them individual interviews or grant them unrestricted access to City Hall. CYA! The thought does bring up an interesting point though. NYS has not gone Republican in the presidential election since 1984. If there is anyone that can do it in '08, it would be Rudy. Last time I checked, NY State wasn't that much different than most other states when it comes to its problems and issues. In fact NY State is probably one of the most cosmopolitan states in the country. There isn't anything "uniquely NY" that requires someone to grow up here to understand the issues. But for somebody who doesn't have a chance to win, Hillary sure does get alot of attention from conservatives. And even if she loses, we'll still have her as our senator, so it's a win-win.
