Regarding Has,

Some one I know (no not the merchandise specialist in the bills store  ) had a couple of things to say to me over the weekend.

First off, he said Haslett is a jerk.

Secondly he said Marv doesn't care for him due to some disagreement they had previuosly and he would find it hard to believe that Levy would bring him in.

Not saying it for any reason other than saying it. Not looking to be flamed, not looking for anything. Just sayin, that's all.

You know, now that you mention it, I vaugely remember some sort of friction between Levy and Haslett, somewhere along the way...was it something that Marv wrote, or said, about Haslett in his media days? I wish I could remember...

I am less convinced, with each passing national media report insisting Haslett has the inside track, that Haslett is the guy....fine with me....I woud prefer Bobby April to any of the other candidates I am hearing mentioned.

Marv cut Haslett in 1987 and is a lot closer to Kent Hull, who Haslett threw under the bus.  Plus Haslett was a scab 1987 LB for the NY Jets.  Haslett would have had a better chance with anyone but Marv.

well, that happened nearly 20 years ago, and if marv can't get past that, that's a problem. as for haslett being a scab, if memory serves, marv coached scabs for three games. he probably could have used someone like haslett, because the bills would have made the playoffs if they had done better in their scab games. as it so happens, i veer left in politics and am pro-union. but remember: the nflpa isn't a union -- it's a guild, and the majority of its members are very, very conservative. consequently, i always disassociate professional sports unions from real life issues.

Blah, blah, blah, who cares. Haslett is still a prick, and he never succeeded in NO so why would the Bills want him?

It seems to me a lot of teams bring in the favorite candidate last....I bet someone interviewed today (maybe Gray) and then we get a diet of Jauron and Sherman possibly Lofton before Haslett comes in....it could be his to lose.

As for Marv and grudges--read his autobio...he has had a few bad blood relationships in his day...he has even made up with the ex-President in KC who he believes hosed him royally..he has a life is too short philosophy. Probably does not apply to Chuck Dickerson.

One thing that could kill Haslett is the character and control of team issues...this article describes some of the situations and is a good history of Has in NO...
