too many commercials

Ignignokt and Err also hate commercials.

All commercials except those for Moon rocks and the Moon Master video game. Those rule. For the Moon is so superior to our earth the Mooninites consider our earth to be their moon. Plutonians need ot get spanked.

Now on to the topic:

I am so insulted by the content of commercials I do one of two things. I either mute the sound when they are on if I have to watch something real time. Or I record it and then watch it later to fast forward through the commercials. I also do that to PrimeTime so I can fast forward through Tom "Mr Obvious" Jackson's lame comments.

ANSWER = NFL SUNDAY TICKET SHORTCUTS.  NO COMMERCIALS WHATSOEVER.  I CAN WATCH A GAME IN 30 MINUTES OR LESS.

WONDERFUL.

I thought I saw it in an earlier thread but can't find it now. Somebody posted that people that had Sunday Ticket last year can get a discount on the upgrade package that includes Sunday Ticket Shortcuts.

Could somebody please post a link to that post or repost the information? I can't deal with the commercials any more!

Also, could somebody also tell me if there are set times that the 30 minute version of each game is shown or if all are shown at the same time and you can pick and choose which one to watch at a given time?

Thanks in advance.

Dave.

Dave, they had the superfan on at sale at $49 pre season, would assume still at the same price. Make sure to ask for credits to offset the price, 90% of time you will get them.

In terms of timing, I'm not sure. I have the Falcons and Dolphins on the to do list on the tivo, and I believe(just a guess from memory) they are on differant channels and differant times.

yeah 3 mins of comercials every 15 mins is fine, but 3 mins of comercials every two minutes is jsut disgusting, annoying, offensive, and enough to make me want to turn off the TV forever.

Not to mention just plain impossible!

I hate commercials and even have a blog entry which is anti-commercial. I try and avoid them. When I watch TV I always have a book handy and my remote. I will hit mute and read or I will channel surf. Its amazing how many commercials are on at any given time. Sometimes 15 consecutive channels will be running simultaneous commercials. Free your mind

I'm getting really tired of watching the Burger King intercept Drew.

The first couple times was funny, but now it's just bringing back ugly memories.

Yea why of all teams did they have to pick ours? My gf thinks it's funny when that commercial comes on because she'll look over at me and see me cringe and then she'll go "oh hunny, they're not making fun of the Bills." I know what those Burger King bastards are up to! :D

You morons. If there weren't any commercials, there would be no money for TV programs. Not unless you want the cost of the shows to end up on your cable bill. So deal with it.

The reasononing for more commercials is simple. Less and less guys are watching TV. (probably playing video games or surfing for porn on the net) And more and more people have TIVO or DVR. So the best time to reach a captive male audience between 18-45 is to do so during sports.

TIVO and DVR actually screw us in the end.

I wasn't saying get rid of all of them, but they need to cut back.

Remember the debate on here before: Hockey or Football? I told you, Football, although a great game and I love the Bills, Its so freakin painful to watch NFL on TV now. IT is absolute murder taking 3.5 hrs to watch a F#^$&ING game. Hockey has nowhere near the amt of commericals that football does and it is much better to watch for flow and minimal interruptions. There, I said it and I'm sticking to it. GO SABRES!!

Do you mean credits to get the $49 price or some others that would drop the price even further?

Thanks,

Dave.

Anyone else get ticked off from the amount of commercials on Sunday during the game?  It was like 3 minutes of game and then 5 minutes of commercials for some car I can't afford or some investigative drama starring a bunch of metrosexuals that I could really care less about.  If I wanted to watch commercials for 2 hours, I would have stuck a pencil in my eye a long time ago.  I don't care how the NFL makes it's money, less commercials = happier fans (even with the manhandling we got yesterday).

The whole commercial situation can be avoided with either a TiVo :D {the 30 second jump} , a cable box with a DVR or you can now find TV's with built in DVR's.

Some of these recording devices can also record HD programing

I know everyone can't afford these pieces of electronics, but these are viabe ways to avoid the dreaded commercials.

I was replying to The Dean about the PPV option.  I'd rather pay for only Bills games and no commercials.

But to respond to your comment...

Back in 95 (or 96), Sunday ticket had no commercials.

446700[/snapback]

Yeah, THAT pisses me off. I pay $200 a year to watch an hour of game and two hours of commercials. I make it a point to NOT buy the crap they pitch to me on Sunday Ticket. I know that it ain't a whole hell of a lot of money, but it's the point!

I've found myself making comments like, "Oh... a delay on the field, better cut to a freaking commercial for (beer|CSI|Trucks) involving (Brady|Patriots|Both)." I thought I was just getting grumpy in my old age, guess it really is getting worse.

His point is that we all skip the commercials on the "regular" shows, but everyone watches football in real time. Thus the advertisers line up to buy sports time as opposed to "CSI time" and whatnot. There's probably a bit of truth to it.

If I could stand to let the bills play for 45 minutes before I watched the game, I'd skip those commercials too... but alas, I can't do that.
