Nick in RaChaCha
I was at the game and that was one of the loudest games I have ever been to. What did it sound like on TV?

smokinandjokin
After the nice first drive by JP got the crowd pumped, when Schoebel sacked Carr on third down, the place was as loud as I've ever heard it.
34-78-83
I agree it was pretty loud (Hi Nick ) although I will say that it seemed to temper off a bit in the 2nd half. I'm not sure if it was the heat or what but we could have done more to help in the 3rd quarter (but I'm pretty picky). People seemed to bounce back ans get loud again in the 4th.To me, when the Bills are on defense, there are still too many people more caught up with their "rights" as paying fans instead of trying to prevent the opposition from calling audibles on offense. This never used to be a problem.
udonkey
I agree that it was very loud from very early on. I also agree that it did seem to slack off a bit in the 3rd. I was personally kind of in a stupor, as my beer was wearing off and the heat/sun was starting to get to me...

If so, who really gives an F? I doubt security would do anything because fans are cheering loudly. Scream out your lungs, pound the seats and make as much noise as possible. TheZone78
The 12th man sucks....sorry guys, but the sound was pathetic. I was sitting a couple sections off the tunnel in the 2nd level and the sound was loud for the first 3rd down play and then it died. It was like a funeral home. So many people are scared to act all crazy. All people need to do is clap their hands even with a little bit of screaming. If 71,000 people did that it would be deafening. During the Texans TD drive the crowd died until they got close to the end zone and then it picked up again.

We were able to compete with dome stadium volume levels because of this at one time. When the opponent's offense can't audible their chances for success go down significantly (As if you didn't know that already ).

Yes, if I LIVED in an area that was built with the intention to host 71,000+ screaming, yelling, pumped-up fans, I should expect just that, or I should move. If someone doesn't want to be in a stadium that in known nationally for its super loud crowd, then don't go the games! I'm not saying that drunken cursing and spitting is OK, I am saying that when I go to a Bills game I feel it is my duty to make as much noise as possible to help me team. And I feel it is every other Bills fan around me to do the same. If you go to a play, yes, you have a "right" to relaxed, quiet setting. If you go to a pro football game (at any stadium), yes, you have a right to a loud, energized setting.

LabattBlue
I think there is a huge difference in expectations here. There is nothing wrong with people who scream their lungs out(while sitting down) versus expecting people to stand through most of the game. I'm not sure what advantage fans are providing to the Bills by standing and yelling versus sitting and yelling. PS I'm not talking about standing at the end of an exciting play, I'm talking about Joe Fan who turns his back to the play whenever the Bills are on defense and implores all the other people in his section to stand up with him. Like I said earlier, can you yell louder when standing up?

billsfanmiami(oh)
You can definitely expell more air when in a standing position. We did an experiment in one of my biology classes last semester that measured this. I would think that more air expelling would equal louder yelling. BRH
I think people should stand and yell the entire time we're on defense, but I've also always felt there's no reason for the crowd to be standing while we're on offense (until after we make a good play or score, at least). There are far too many people these days who think they're supposed to yell while we're on offense, too. THAT's embarrassing.
