That 8.7 in two years would put him as the 18th highest paid TE by average contract value THIS season. Cost will only go up. Some recent deals for the upper tier, not elite guys: Mark Andrews - 13 million Jake Furgeson - 12 million Pat Freirmeurh - 12 mil Dalton Schultz - 12 Cole Kmet - 12 If he signed this offseason, I’d fully expect him to be in that range, let alone in two years it could absolutely be 15 mil. To me it is more about the guarentees, when they give them and the length of the contract (he’s already 26y/o). Yeah, I had the whole list of TE contracts pulled up on Spotrac when I posted that. I get that contracts always go up over time, along with the cap. Knox signed at $15M/yr but has been knocked down to $9M/yr in order to keep his job. Kincaid has been good, but certainly not elite even when healthy. I could get comfortable at $12M/yr. But if we didnt want to pay Cook $15M/yr no way Kincaid should get that. He isnt in the Andrews/Njoku/Hockenson tier. I can Quote

For two or maybe three years there he was top three or so, and once he was All-Pro. Yes, staying healthy was and is a concern, for Milano and for Kincaid. Your quote of my statement misses a crucial word of mine, "better than average player who makes some big plays." Quoting me like that with just "average" makes my statement look very bad. You probably still don't like that so I'll say this: Milano and Kincaid have both been, at times, very, very good players. But neither can stay healthy and that's a huge concern for both. I think the Bills are finished with Milano after this year and I would hope that they don't give Kincaid a top-5 contract only to see him ride the pine half the time. You can have him for one year for $8.7 million. You can't relpace him for that in free agency. Probably can't replace him for in the draft. Alternatively if Hawes is a true TE1, then the money might better upgrade the position. Fun answer : If you don't get him first, he can never rejoin the team later Chaos, it is absolutely, positively 100 percent that simple. Seriously, that is as succinct and accurate as it can be put. Nicely done, Sir. Quote
