Oh, I remember Jack. My dad was a Steelers fan. He retired in 1984 though, so unless someone was cheering from their mom's womb nobody under 40 remembers watching Lambert, at least not live. Never considered him dirty though. To me he was just a mean intimidating SOB who played hard and relentless.

Then I guess you've never watched:

Vontaze Burfict

Albert Haynesworth

Rodney Harrison

Vince Wilfork

Ndamukong Suh

Bill Romanowski

They would've ended Allen and celebrated.

You're probably missing a few more names, but that's a good starting list.

Those are somewhat recent, let alone old school boys.

The lost of dirty player starts and ends with our very own Conrad Dobler. Anyone else is just an amateur in comparison.

Wanted to keep it fairly recent, but you are correct. Dobler was the Godfather of dirty players. Never denied the accusations and relished the reputation as such.

See... like I said, probably missing a few names. Thank you 🍻

Technically, Dobler made his bones with St. louis long before the Bills.

As proof to your comment, his self written autobiography is titled "They Called Me Dirty"

And it was a very good read.

Watched him last year during the our game with Houston and thought he was the real deal. Fast, physical with sound technique. As you mentioned, always taking it too far and is usually good for 3 to 4 fines a season.
