After Greg Rousseau’s 3 sack game against the Cardinals in the 2024 opener, he has played a total of 26 regular season games. In those games he has a total of 8 sacks, with only 6 of those being unassisted. He has 88 total tackles since the beginning of 2024. Last season he had 15 “stuff” tackles which are in the backfield. This year he only has 3 of those.

This guy is literally become the invisible

man of the defense and it has been going on for almost 2 full seasons. The bad part is they just signed this slug to a big contract and we are stuck with him.

On a day where a lot of people are taking deserved heat, Rousseau seems to be a forgotten man. He shouldn’t be. He IS a huge part of the problem on that side of the ball.

maybe one of the reporters can flat out ask McDermott about his lack of production. I’d like to hear an honest answer from the coach.

I always said trade him before resigning him.

Ok, so he cant get to the QB and the Bills are 2nd worst in the league against the run. I'd say he is maybe adequate against the run because he is stuck at the LOS because he is stuffed and rendered useless by any and all linemen.

Rousseau appears to not be good at anything except getting stuffed at the line.

For sure. Just like Josh his first year… outstanding running the ball but that wasn’t going to cut it.

Even then I don’t think I’d say Groot is outstanding this year. Good with a flash of great here or there at best.

For gawd sake where the hell was he when Davis Mills dropped back to pass last night? Or where the hell has he been when any QB is dropping back to pass?

Leading the team in tackles last night. Whoopie. He had 6 total tackles and one of them was for a loss where he was credited with half a tackle.

No, it’s not me and most others.

It’s you that can’t see he’s a big issue. Especially with the enormous contract he has.

Have you ever even looked at that contract? We have one season (2027) where we are in a difficult position.

Before that? Cheap.

After that? Cap savings.

Definitley a friendly contract to potentially get out of if they ever go that route, that would be in my opinion either via trade or a restructure. Not an outright cut. Will give them credit for that bit of good business on his extension.

The problem is that right now he’s the highest paid defender on the team…

Right now, in 2025, he isn't. We can't worry about the deep future because there are billions of variables. Contracts are made to be adjusted, and the only season that will be tricky with him is 2027.

He is the highest paid defender man. Whether it’s factored in this year or the future. He’s at an average for $20m a season. $3m more than Benford and Ed.

He got paid. $39m at signing to be exact. $54m practical guarantee if the contract numbers online are accurate.

“It’s ok boss. I know you paid me top dollar for the role in our industry. I’ll make it up later”

As I’ve stated in other posts, I’m not bashing Greg or saying he’s garbage but simply the production isn’t matching the $’s he was given

Can't bash him for what he hasn't made yet, though. He made 5.8m this season. AJ made 6.

Yup another acquisition that turned out to be far less than was hoped for, he is essentially another version of that guy we let walk to Chicago, you know, the guy who’s only twenty years old…,

Lol, the Texans wrecking machine Anderson has played 2 less seasons and has more sacks than Rousseau. They were both 1st round picks, at this point Rousseau has been a failure.

Anderson was the third overall pick in the draft

That's the difference between drafting a blue chip player and getting a good player who can't rush the passer
