That war left a million people dead, including American sons and daughters, and many more catastrophically injured. Lives were changes, families shattered. You are allowed an arm's length view and the perspective that comes with it...you can sit and drink a Timmy Ho's, contemplate your time at University, plan a holiday. You use the term 'zed', your money is artistic, beautiful and colorful...and your painted ladies dance in the same suits as they were born in often artistic, beautiful and colorful.
