The Bills won; where does the Bills rank in your book in terms of contending for superbowl now?

But you focus on the Bills weaknesses and likely don't watch the other contenders' games as closely. No one says the Bills have "fixed" their run defense, it has sucked particularly in the last two games.  They have been OK at times.  But the point is that every team has problems.  The odds are what they are because we are grading on a curve here, not in absolute terms.  Maybe that is mumbo jumbo, but I don't think so.  You are having a recency bias, but the odds look at the bigger picture.

I don’t think the Bills are a Super Bowl contender, we can agree to disagree so please stop trying so hard to get me to change my mind 🙄

If our path is a wild card, I would say we have no shot.  The Kelly era bills did it as WC but that team had a better defense.  The Giants did but they had a defense that got hot at the right time.  Dont think they gave up more than 20 in a playoff game that year.   Bills all time playoff record is 17–7 record in home playoff games and a 4–15 record in away.  I believe McD and Josh have never won a road playoff game, so I dont see 3 in row happening.   It would take Josh going superfreak mode and putting up 35 every game imho.

I see it the same way. If they can get the division and #1 seed, then I see the Bills in the Super Bowl. Go in as a WC then it's highly unlikely. I don't trust the Bills in a big spot on the road and McDermott has never won a playoff game on the road as Jacksonville, Houston, and Kansas City multiple times prove.

Honestly with this Defense i don't even consider the Bills as a team that I think of when thinking of the SB this year

John Madden is that you?

The Bills can beat anyone in the league.  Key word, *can*.  They also have a lot of playoff experience compared to some up and coming teams.  They also have vulnerabilities that have been exploited.  Do I see them as a front-runner?  No.  But I also see a team that, with the league the way it is right now, that could very well go even from Wild Card to Super Bowl Champion.

I don't think its impossible and I'm not as big a proponent of we need the number 1 seed as some are. Look at it this way, if you're one of the division champs like Indy, Denver, or North teams do you really want to see Josh Allen coming to town? After that it gets back to matchups, upsets, injuries etc and see who we're matchup with. We could end up with the AFCG back to Highmark after that all shakes out. They have as good a chance as anyone from the AFC.

I am in the 80/10/10 space with this defense...  80% we dont make the playoffs or are a WC/Divisional exit... 10% AFC Championship exit and 10% SB

Listen to some shallow X and O on the Tampa game. Extensive discussion on run defense. They think LBs are the worst problem. Carl Jones noted the pattern of motion caused big problems for Bills run defense. To me that's coaching. Babich said many times that "where your eyes should be." Apparently offenses have figured out what the eyes of our second level D eyes are and are taking advantage of it.

Lastly I want to echo the statement in the show (when they discussed Bishop's emergence) that coaches want you "to be consistent" not just one flash here and there. This is so true when you look at the path of Cook, Benford, etc. and then look at guys like Epenesa, to further down to guys like Elam (who had a few flashes as a Bills as well). Coleman does have flashes, maybe one flash a game. But that's not nearly enough to be a professional NFL player.

Amen on the "flashes" part.  Its overused on this board too much, to me just another way of saying a guy has a good play once in a while.  The other larger part of their play, not so much.
