I'm sitting across from a famous poster by a Cuban artist (Ares): We met him in his studio and I quizzed him on censorship. He had plenty of art critical of the Cuban government. We also met some dissidents. I asked if they might be imprisoned for their work and they said it was unlikely but possible. I guess kinda like here, see Bolton, John and Comey, James. I guess kinda like here, see Bolton, John and Comey, James. Trump, Donald. As for Ares, I suppose it’s possible that happened. I see he’s got some significant accolades but geesh, from a creative perspective, looks like he sorta mailed this one in. Was there only one format Obama approved of? Looks like Ares took the HOPE poster, changed the solemn look and gave him a smile and a Cuban general’s tunic.

It's about freedom of speech and risk of persecution. It may be that Cuba is worse on this issue than America. It may be the opposite. I saw a small sample of activists who didn't seem fearful. But it's clear that under trump, freedom of speech is under attack. Why would any American support that? 1

Under attack, for example, from government collusion with and coercing of social media platforms to censor views and opinions deemed critical of the regime? What you're glossing over is the fact Democrats under the Biden administration threw the first punch in the effort to suppress free of speech. Add in deploying street goons to inflict violence on those participating in protests and events where the exercise of free speech is attacked and you've got all that authoritarian crap the liberal cult complains about. 1

Very interesting, though I'm not sure you named-dropped him, shared a picture of his poster if you didn't want to involve him in the dialogue. I can't speak to why you feel the way you do about Cuba v. America. I haven't visited Cuba, have no plans to, and don't see it as a flip of the coin sort of thing. I do think, though, that some Americans do not like dissenting voices and prefer freedom of speech only when viewed through the prism of imagined elitism---I think that describes you and explains why you see things the way you do. 1

Let’s assume that all your complaints against D’s are justified. Does that justify the current regimes actions? 1
The Frankish Reich Posted 52 minutes ago Posted 52 minutes ago Thanks to Trump, I watched Seth Meyers this morning. Not bad! A little repetitive with the Trump jokes, but a couple good ones. Trump will make me a fan.
