I don't get the link between the kid being gay and the shooting. Wasn't Kirk really cool with gays? That's what I been hearing Sorry, but 200 yards seems pretty far. Looking at a person two football fields away and they seem pretty small. If you can hit someone at 500 yards, then I suspect that if there are copy cats of this they will have a decent chance of getting away. I have not seen any info on the tracing of the rifle, but the cops seemed stumped before his family turned him in. Could the gun of been traced by checking the round and matching it to some records? Stop. No, it's not. Not with a decent rifle. If it was 500+ that would seem impressive to me. 150-200 yards is NOTHING with a rifle. Especially a bolt action 30-06 that can travel to 6,000 yards (no, not very accurately). I can take my M24 (Remington 700 set up with a .308 round, a smaller round) out to 1300 yards. I can hit a golf ball over and over at 200 yards. 2 1 2

According to the political side you support YOU are being very transphobic and spewing hate speech by saying the kid is gay. Your side says trans woman are women therefore the shooter can’t be gay and if you disagree your a bigot. Your sides rules. 2
The Frankish Reich Posted September 14 Posted September 14 Utah Governor Spencer Cox: a pitch perfect response to this tragedy. Watch him on CNN's State of the Union. I know Utah well (lived there as a kid, supervised an office there as an adult), and yes, it does have a different political and social culture informed by the Mormon church. But maybe in these times its a better political culture. He is stable, rational, projects a sense of being in control. It's been a long time since we've seen that on the national level. 2 1
Wolfgang Posted September 14 Posted September 14 Now is a good time to ask this question... Did the alleged shooter, Tyler Robinson, do any contract work in Ukraine? A simple question that will matter in the future...
ArdmoreRyno Posted September 14 Posted September 14 @Homelander What's so funny? Just because you don't understand firearms and probably can't take a little Ruger 10-22 and hit a target 25 yards away, doesn't mean there aren't people like myself out there that can hit targets at 1000+ yards on a consistent biases. 1

You don't date someone the same sex, or opposite sex who claims to be a different gender (which is not uncommon) and not be 'bi-sexual' or 'other than straight'. Not how it works. Sorry. It's fair to call him part of the LGBTQ+ "community." But that category is not wholly separate and apart from groyper culture. I think the Venn Diagram would show a significant overlap. I'm pretty much on the cusp of Boomer/Gen X as currently defined, so I realize I am prone to that either/or categorization of people. The whole Gen Z thing is very different. And I'll admit I don't get a lot of it. Those things he wrote on the bullet casings are so Gen Z, so completely immersed in multiple levels of Gen Z social media/gamer culture, that it probably isn't comprehensible to most of us here.

I will check that out. The NFL/CBS is giving me Giants-Cowboys as my sole early game. I'm about to go cut the grass which will be significantly more fun.
