Mikie2times Posted September 4 Posted September 4 (edited) I'm not sure how many got a chance to watch this kid in week 1. A lot of hype, I had no idea what to expect. I was pretty floored by what I saw. Competition really doesn't matter with what I was looking at. How in rhythm is he, how quick does the ball get out, arm strength, accuracy, and composure. I was so impressed by this kid. In fact, I will go as far to say I have only been blown away by two freshman QB's in the last 25 years or so as far as watching the first games they played as freshman. Those guys ended up being Russel Wilson and Robert Griffen III. I have really liked others early, but not to this extent. Sometimes when you watch these kids you just get a feeling. They're just ahead of it all. The Oklahoma / Michigan is must watch football this weekend. Mateer is also very solid and Oklahoma should be a solid team again this year. Norman is not a fun place to play for anybody let alone a true Freshman in game two. But I think this kid will be up to the task and it should be a awesome game. thenorthremembers Posted September 4 Posted September 4 May have mentioned this before, but my oldest son is a big Michigan fan. Checked out the game last week. The kid has all the measurables and all the talent in the world. The arm talent is pretty evident. One thing I noticed last week is he relies a lot on the arm talent and the mechanics are a ways off, especially lower body. That said he looks like the real deal in terms of a QB prospect. Going to get a lot of Cam Newton and Josh Allen comparisons. I like Mateer from the Sooners alot. Cant wait for the game. 1 Quote
Mark Vader Posted September 5 Posted September 5 I really was impressed by what I saw from Underwood. The sky is the limit for when he gets everything together, and he is a lot of fun to watch. All set for the Sooners game. GO BLUE!!! Quote

Wilson was 10-13 for 259 yards against Nevada last Vegas. 2 rushes for 62 yards. You’re saying you saw that performance and saw nfl potential? Quote

Insanely tough challenge for your first road start True freshman People are giving Arch some growing pain room and he's technically a junior lol He's one of only three true freshman quarterback to get a start this year to start the season Quote

Not the greatest environment for Michigan. Glad they are playing though. 1 Quote

Now they need to make sure they build around him and give him some wide receivers that he could grow with and show his potential with the next two three plus years Michigan's line is always pretty good they need to give him some weapons Quote

The gameplan in the first half was so vanilla, trying not to lose stuff. Part of me wonders if they go 8-5 or worse if they can keep him out of the portal. Quote

Will help the confidence and let him use his legs if the first reads arent open. He isnt good to anyone handing the ball off to other players for 3 yards at a time. Quote

I mean it's 2025 you just can't keep them pigeonholed in the pocket even if his arm is phenomenal He has all this talent.. and getting him on the move will only help his reads and his confidence.. he's a big boy and he can throw on the run Quote
