What a bunch of gibberish.  Of course nuking Hiroshima and Nagasaki is inconsistent with the teachings of Jesus.  But that horror at least had some significant color of greater good it likely averted an invasion of the Japanese homeland and ultimately saved lives.  The alligator camps do not have any such benefit.   Ergo, not only do I dislike the idea, I am against those camps.  See how easy it is?

So you didn't get it when I said I was against the idea, and repeated it with a quote.

More gibberish.  You said you don’t like it.  That doesn’t mean you’re against it.  I can dislike something but still support it if I feel, for example, that it is the least bad thing on a menu of options.  You only now said that you’re against these alligator detention facilities.

Yeah, Jesus just taught crass commercialism instead.  And we need not have this alligator compound to avert economic suicide.

On your first point...

I am glad that we agree that horror is often required...

On your second point...

What is your evidence that Jesus was a real person historically?

Where is your proof that he was not a mythological creation?

Jesus never taught anything committing any nation to economic suicide, which is exactly what would happen if any nation refuses to enforce borders with reasonable immigration rights.

The conjecture that he did if preposterous.

Being the Voice of Reason here is not something I chose; it became my duty.

And the Voice of Reason sez: We can argue about WJWDoWND (What Jesus Would or Would Not Do).

And enforcing borders and immigration is one of those things that Jesus may just have left to the government.

But I do know Jesus would like to see all people - all his brothers - treated humanely and with dignity. Even if they are being deported, and even if they are criminals who are being deported.

I’ve explained my side before. You have ignored every point in favor of idiotic ad hominems and studies you don’t even read.

There is no point in continuing the discussion because you simply don’t argue in good faith and never will. I have my suspicions as to why.

Your “side” is that it’s OK for 13 year-olds to have their bodies irreparably altered if  the “experts” say it’s OK. My position is that that is an abomination. One that history will condemn. My position is also that if you are an adult and want to chop your body up trying to become something you are not, have at it. Fire away, don’t let anything stop you.

“experts” once recommended lobotomies.

keep telling yourself that it’s you that’s the good Christian

Except for those people that entered the capital on J6. Obviously.

Did I ever say they shouldn't be treated humanely? Of course I believed they were properly prosecuted, but I wasn't in favor of sending them to Alligator Alcatraz or Uganda or whatever.

I think he would speak out against it.  At a minimum he'd use the abusers in a lesson about how not to be.

Look, I don't have any real skin in the religion game, but this is one of the things that easily reveals a pagan/atheist as ignorant at best, and a nitwit at worst.

Jesus of Nazareth is one of the most well-attested historical figures of the region and time in which he lived, both in Christian and non-Christian sources. There are vanishingly few influential scholars, Christian or otherwise, who would argue that there was no historical Jesus of Nazareth. Bart Ehrman is probably the foremost of the American New Testament critics and characterizes Jesus mythicism as the flip side of the same coin on which snake-handling fundamentalism is printed.

You are free to believe whatever you like...

The Catholic Church has no fear of committing fraud, or engaging in profound paganism...

To support their long term political plans...

The Shroud of Turin is exhibit A of their need to lie...

The Catholic Church is not Jesus.

There is clear historical, non Biblical evidence of this.

Do your own work. Don't ask others.

I've done my own work, which is why I asked C section a question that I knew he would not answer...

I have no need to ask you anything about anything...

You've bought into the ethnic cleansing project underway in Israel as we speak...

But perhaps you have a Biblical reference you can share to justify what the majority of the world is quite disgusted by...

You and C section are made for each other...

Suckers for propaganda that you feel gives you a false sense of the moral high ground in yet another mindless thread meant to go no where...

I won’t argue with that, but the Church is not Jesús and the fallibility of man shall not shake my faith.
