Tough TC and PreSeason

But McDermott defenses have actually been decent in the playoffs. Beating the Lamar Jackson led Ravens twice in the playoffs is no easy task. Held the Broncos to 7 points last year (holding any NFL offense to one TD is impressive.) 

The Bills have been very good in the WC round..It is the Divisional and Championship round the defense has struggled...Even against Baltimore last season. the defense was quite leaky and the turnovers (some self inflicted by Baltimore) bailed them out.

Nothing like seeing it all, and everything in the pre season, through the darkest of dark lenses. Always look at the Bills with excrement covered glasses?

 

Obviously some concerns, and especially in the secondary, but the Bills will likely be one of the best teams in the league--and that ridiculous comment, laughable cliche, that it is all on 17 now. The Bills will have one of the best rosters in the NFL, with a much improved defense, and maybe an historically good offense now.

 

With so many young 'uns on defense, it will take some weeks for them to hit their stride, but enough here for another great start.

 

Clean off your glasses! They are really distorting reality.

 

But we will see soon, for real, IF the sky is really falling.

 

Did you have similar high hopes at the end of last pre season?  I would guess; YES!  Would bet a lot on that!

 

 

Probably missed my point.   Have we done enough for the team to be more improved for them to take down the Chiefs and the Ravens in the playoff.  Based on what happened in TC and PS, it appears that the expected progress is not there.  Thats all.  Go Bills !!!

Point of order, the Bills have beaten the Ravens twice in the playoffs. In fact, 🤔 I don't recall us ever losing to the Ravens in the playoffs. So yes, we've done enough.

As long as the game is in OP. I want no part of the Ravens in the playoffs in Baltimore. As a matter of fact, McDermott has never won a road playoff game as HC. They are most likely going to win the AFCE, but they better get that #1 seed as well. I don't think they can beat the Ravens in Baltimore, and we already know what happens in Arrowhead come playoff time.

To be fair, EVERY team struggled against the Ravens. One of the only teams that is elite at both running & passing the ball. Some teams you just have to accept that they’re going to score points and hope for a turnover/mistake (which Babich/McD did  masterfully.) To shut down a HOF RB and QB is asking a ton.

Makes me concerned if this team will get ready for SNF with Baltimore.   Eveyrthing falls once again on the shoulders of #17

 

We heard this last year when the Bills lost Diggs and seemingly had no good WRs. The Bills and Allen always seem to figure it out. It’s just hard for me to worry about an offense that has been historically great for the past 5 years. I feel like great QBs are able to get it done with pretty much anyone remotely decent.  Also, I am keeping a close eye on Shavers. Could he be our Marques Colston ?

Maybe "Father Time" will start catching up to Henry. He has a lot of miles and a lot of hits on him over the years. If his decline can start this year than that would be great.

Lol   yeah, I get it, but it is still an awfully negative take for most of your examples, extremely negative in both the things you choose to focus on--and the way you speak about each.  The sky was falling on the Bills this pre season, is what one would think if your OP was the only thing they knew about what took place in Bills' world this summer

 

Like I said, clear concerns with the defensive backfield, on that I agree, and a few other details, but a glass is almost empty view of what was likely a very productive summer for the team, with significant progress shown in many areas. 

 

Should do the opposite now in a post if you can, a new OP maybe or here, and hit on the many positive things.

 

I think if you do that, you'll start to see what I mean. Maybe!

 

Instead, I think the glass is almost full, and the preseason  a success. Of course it never goes perfectly.  But definite progress shown for this team, which was just a few minutes away from the Super Bowl last year.
