Gregg Posted August 6 Posted August 6 Many of the "experts" think Manning will go #1 but I wonder if he will declare as he might stay in college. Here are some of the other QB prospects to watch this college football season https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/positions/QB/1/2026 Quote
thenorthremembers Posted August 6 Posted August 6 I feel like Arch and the rest of the Mannings will be very interested in who has the number one pick. If it ends up being a franchise the family feels will be a detriment to Arch's ability maximize his career I can fully see him going back to school. Both Manning and Sellers need this year to show they are worth top picks. Sellers specifically hasnt shown enough as a passer. Klubnik and Nussmeier both need to gain weight to play at the next level. I am interested to see if Mateer can continue to play well at OU. 1 Quote
Buffalo716 Posted August 6 Posted August 6 I think there's almost zero chance Arch Manning goes to the draft The Mannings are all about staying 4 years in college and having over 20 college starts Maximum Arch is going to have like 13 or 14 which is basically going to be a short NFL career for what they would want.. he needs more experience Super talented but the way 95% of pundits and people just gave him this label of being the best and guaranteed number one pick is way way too soon... Remember he could not even beat out quinn ewers who went in the 7th round 47 minutes ago, thenorthremembers said: I feel like Arch and the rest of the Mannings will be very interested in who has the number one pick. Arch Manning probably has 7 lb on klubnik who has definitely been getting bigger the last 2 years But 7 lb with 2 in height advantage really isn't that big a difference Dabo said klubnik is 212 and getting bigger Arch is definitely under 220... So they're not that far off And klubnik is wayyyy further along as a starting quarterback in college right now 1 Quote

Probably hadnt been updated since his 1st year, 2 Quote

I am curious to see how he does even though the Bills don't need a QB. I think the Jets will draft one in Rd 1. Fields only has a two-year deal and I don't see him as their long-term answer. Who knows what the Dolphins will do. Do they move on from Tua. Possibly. The only two teams in the division set at QB are the Bills and Pats. 1 Quote

Bill from NYC Posted August 8 Posted August 8 It really might be mere preseason hype, but I'm reading that Ty Simpson is looking good at Alabama. I was not a fan of Milroe as a QB. He's a really good person and he has all the talent in the world. but he was an inadequate passer imo. Simpson cannot run like Milroe (who can?), but he can run some, and he's a very good scrambler. In the little I saw of him last season, he threw some nice, accurate passes. I wanted Coach DeBoer to put him in last year when Milroe faltered, but I'm not the coach and I'm sure DeBoer had his reasons for not doing so. There was competition for the job this year, to include a 5 star freshman (Keelon Russell), who I think will be exceptional down the road. Simpson was also a 5 star, but he played for a somewhat small high school in Tennessee. In any event, The Crimson Tide will take the field in 22 days. Good luck to fans of any particular team! He very well could be BUT, both his uncles stayed and played their SR years so I think that factors into it. Also if its the Jets at #1... Hell no, he won't play for them. If its the Giants and Dabol is still there... its possible he goes due to Eli's connections. But my Sooners are going to win the SEC and the National Championship and thats all that matters 😁 1 Quote
gonzo1105 Posted August 31 Posted August 31 A very bad ugly day for some of the top QB prospects today. I know they played good teams but Manning was awful, Klubnik(who I have never been high on) is playing like crap , and Nussmeier has had a few good balls but most of his passes have been off the mark. I really like John Mateer who was at Washington State last year and is now at Oklahoma Quote

I really like John Mateer who was at Washington State last year and is now at Oklahoma It's week one defenses usually always ahead of offense I wasn't expecting a 35-31 game in Clemson I thought both quarterbacks were going to be limited in the first game.. trying not to lose it instead of trying to win it Usually as the weeks progress quarterbacks get more into a groove..it's the dual threat runners who usually come out of the gate hard to stop Like castellanos at FSU... Doesn't really have an big NFL arm but he could run around and create and it's tough to stop I've liked mateer since last year too.. Washington state is a very friendly quarterback system and they have been developing qbs for a while ... Think he's gonna be great in OU Edited August 31 by Buffalo716 Quote
