A small slice of life story from me yesterday: I walked in the part of the city by the train station I will sometimes encounter homeless people looking for money.  Someone asked me for a buck....  the man was in a wheelchair.  I gave it him one.  He says God Bless.

I walk to one of my favorite diners there where the owner happened to give me extra coffee he said on the house.  I thought maybe in some small way that might be karma for trying to help that man.

Well maybe not so much with our favorite football team but I'm sure there's plenty of stories here people can share.....

I only recently became aware of that line from Adams, and didn't recall it, as I had remembered many other lines from his works.

I have many stories where the universe worked out for me, but I'll share the greatest example of the universe saying, you're good bro.

Back in late 2012, I was thinking it was time for me to have a girlfriend. I had been single for 7 years to that point. I went to single dances, and I had a couple of dates, but nothing materialized. Then one day in December 2012, I see a new profile picture of a female friend of mine on Facebook. I see the picture, and I say to myself, "I have to get to know this woman better". When this woman put up her new profile picture, she said to herself, "I don't know what will come of this, but maybe I'll meet my forever man from my current friend group". She had done the Plenty of Fish and other dating apps, without much success.

This woman, who I went to high school with coincidently but didn't say more than 5 words to each other, posted on how hard it was for her son to go back to Naval training after his first leave for the holidays On January 1st, 2013. I sent her a quick little message, just saying I'm here to support you if you ever want to talk. We began to Facebook Message each other. Mind you, she's living in Buffalo and I'm living in the Bay Area of California, close to Oakland. I suggested a phone call. She agreed to it. I'm thinking for the first call, 20 minutes tops would be a good call. The first call lasted an hour. More calls, longer in length and more frequent.

All of this culminated in me asking her from California to be my girlfriend. The turning point was the Superbowl between the 49ers and Ravens. I'm at a local bar, she's at home. We're texting each other during the game, and she's calling the correct play before it's run nearly 100% of the time. I thought to myself, this woman is extremely good looking, very smart (She was a teacher at the time), and knows football! I ask her to be my girlfriend, and told her I loved her. She replied "I think I love you too".

I moved back to Buffalo in July of 2013, some 6 months after we started dating. We were married in June 2014. She is my forever person, and I am hers. Cancer couldn't break the bond we have for each other. (She conquered the same cancer Jim Kelly had, 3 surgeries in one year and 18 continuous months of treatment. Her cancer is now cured).

We tell each other often, she manifested me, and I manifested her. The universe definitely brought us together.

I was forced out of a job that I absolutely loved after 10 years last November. New CHRO came in a basically got rid of the entire HR Leadership team. Got a semi-nice golden parachute, so I was able to survive for quite some time. Keep in mind that while I am job hunting, I am in SC, so it's hybrid in Charlotte or full time remote, or on-site somewhere in the Columbia, SC area. Fast forward to March and I accept a full-time remote manager job because i need electricity, food and health bennies. Fortune 500 company, good culture, great people, but very much a tactical job. I got bored fast. Continued to look and landed a dream job at non-profit, but one that is absolutely huge - 44K employees and $30 BB in revenue.  You all are familiar with them as their name is on a certain stadium we all know and love. I'm on day 12, and I'm loving every minute of it.

It looked pretty grim there for a minute, but as I tell Mrs. McButterpants, "things always work out for me."  thank you universe 🙏
