One of the rare occasions I disagree with Matt Walsh.   The Catholic Church has way more in common with the pharisees who sent Jesus to die than they do Jesus himself.    If you believe in the Holy trinity, and you've read enough of the Bible, how could you ever believe the Pope was ordained by God?  This is an institution that hid or failed to report nearly a century of sexual abuse.  In 2002, the Boston Globe printed a statistic that nearly 60% of priests had at least one complaint of abuse levied against them.

Beyond the abuse scandals, the absolute luxury of the Vatican, and the ornate dress of its leaders is antithetical to the teachings of Jesus Christ.      Pope Francis' estimated net worth at the time of his death was $16 million dollars.   This is not to say every member of the Church is corrupt or there are not Godly people associated with it, it is just to say the Vatican itself is a political establishment wrapped in religious aesthetics.

Matt Walsh falls into the category of blind believers. That's what got Jesus crucified unfortunately. It's ok to have faith but you can also think for yourself and have conviction in your own beliefs and interpretation (which is ironically what his show is usually about when not talking religion). I'm not going to blindly worship some false idol in a pope mobile. He's human and he's flawed (I'll stick with JC). I just pray he does his sincere best with the position he finds himself in.

no idea.  do a search.  everyone is biased.  he seems biased towards what most would call liberal social justice issues.

The leader of the Church should not have any bias except towards the Bible.

No, I'm saying that this man was made Pope through the actions of the Holy Spirit.  Exactly why is unknown.  But he's definitely on the more liberal side of the Catholic church.

Fair enough.  I just find it odd that a person that supports liberals ideals would also believe in a Holy Spirit.

I imagine he was raised Catholic.   I have to say I found it entertaining listening to all the Catholics calling into WBEN on my way home today.     To summarize "Yes I am Catholic.  I havent been to mass in years but I have hope the American Pope can restore of the perishes we have had to close."

What?

The Church hardly ever involves itself in legislation of any country.  Its distanced itself from who to say should or shouldn’t receive communion (simple rule sin on your soul you can’t receive it).

Its job is….your soul.

You want to vote for and support abortion - good luck explaining that at the end.  That is clear dogma - when life begins.

Welcoming the foreigner - immigration - is not Catholic dogma or doctrine.

It is not known whether Bishop Tobin’s tweet reached Pope Francis. But the message from Rome regarding the Pope’s actual pastoral guidance to Biden was surely a profound disappointment for the Rhode Island bishop — at least if he accepted the president’s account of the 75-minute private audience.

Speaking with reporters after his Oct. 29 visit to the Apostolic Palace, Biden said Francis called him a “good Catholic” and advised him to keep receiving Holy Communion.

Well some like Roundy like to pick and choose the parts of the faith they will accept or reject so it works for them.

Thou shall not kill. Unless you want to kill an ICE officer doing his or her job. That's ok then.

regarding foreigners, you might want to remind yourself of these bible verses.  They're not limited to Catholics.

Because many of the social and political beliefs of liberals are in direct opposition to the teachings of the bible.  I mean I think thats pretty obvious.

I would argue that many maga social and political beliefs are in direct opposition to the teaching of the bible.

Haha "I'm Catholic I don't go to church or pray or support the church in any way but..."

Yes, Satan has infiltrated the Vatican. We are all weak and flawed humans al easy targets. Sex, money, or power is usually all it takes to turn someone. Very sad indeed what has happened in just my lifetime from where it was when I was a kid to now is almost too sad to even think about. Hopefully this guy turns it around. If he's just going to tweet about how he is against every Trump policy then he might as well take over for Chuck Schumer.

Have you guys seen "Jesus Revolution?" Really praying for something like that for the Catholic Church or if not Catholicism then at least something that brings everyone closer to Jesus. "Singing church" is cool too (my wife is non-denominational), whatever works for people!

Lol imagine the Pope saying publicly I told him he wasn’t a good Catholic.  My God man.

So how many foreigners live in your house?

Why not?  He publicly rebuffed trump multiple times.

nonsequitor.  whether I have migrants staying with me has no impact on what the bible says.  we did have a big birthday party for a South American exchange student about a week ago.  it was great fun.  She drove for the first time ever in my UTV.

Catholicism is more then just “what the Bible says.”

You can do that if you’re Protestant.
