I honestly don’t think there can be unity anymore.

I don’t mean this in a “I hate all people to the left of me” type of way.   I have clients and friends who are on the left and we talk politics, disagree, but at the end of the day.. truly care about each other.

I think that is most of America, despite the fringes on each side.

That said.. those fringes are growing.. and the differences we share are irreconcilable in society.    This isn’t tax policy debate or whatever milquetoast difference R’s and D’s had in the 1960’s.

These differences are fundamentally incompatible with each other.

And I’ve seen, and know, that there are people in my life who are happy Charlie Kirk was assassinated.  And if they are happy he was assassinated, what does that say about how they view me?   Does it matter to them that we’re acquaintances, family, have shared a friendship?  Because I believe, and say, quite a bit of what Charlie Kirk believed.

And if you hate him that much for what he believes.. why would it be any different for me?

I don’t want to be around those people any longer.  There are plenty of Democrats that I like.. but there is a growing segment of that party that views me the same as Charlie Kirk because I voted for Trump or have conservative values.  I don’t want to be around them.. and I don’t want them in my community, spreading their demented views and trying to legislate and control the values of my state & local government.

They’d probably feel the same about me.

The same problem exists on both sides.  Want to call me a pedo because I’m a Democrat, or evil, or a commie, or someone who hates my country, or someone who now should be rounded up, or whatever else it is that is thrown around here and in my real life?  I’m going to give you a hard time,  and I’m probably not going to want to hang around you.

I don’t blame you in the least for how you feel.  I get it.  If it makes you feel better, while I often disagree with your opinion, I generally respect it.  The shoe here is in the left foot, and we all have to be better.  It’s time to tone it down, respect others, and simply agree to disagree without all of the vitriol.

Who is “you?”  A single actor?  Or a representative of a large group?  Again, comments like yours are part of the problem.

Maxwell the child molester you support and worship was helped to better accomidations by Trump

Why do you support child molesters?

You support biden, who showered with his teenage daughter. So save your righteous indignation for someone else.

So that makes it right to shield a child sex ring?  Give me a break.  More nonsense vitriol that is unhelpful to this country.

Did you not call for the death of ICE agents? Why would you feel any different towards me or anyone who disagrees with your warped political views?

I don’t trust you, I don’t like you, I don’t want you or anyone like you around my loved ones!

No I did not, I called for people to resist illegal ICE activity as they did in Rochester a couple days ago.

Appreciate this post.  But it’s really not a both sides thing.. at least not to an equal extent..

You said you would be very pleased if some were shot Luigi style. You’ve tried to lie your way around that but your words are there for all to see. Seems like you might be ashamed of them but you lack the character to say as much. Easier to keep lying I guess.

Again, never said that either.

Here’s what you said. Despite your attempts to worm out of your own words, there’s no mistaking the meaning of them. Just own it like a grown man.

I disagree.  And I also submit that the Twitter post is misleading at best.

Here, on this board alone, we’ve seen calls to “round up Democrats” and support for “lock her up.”  As far as the political violence piece goes, not only are there no numbers in that post, but I dare say that a large percentage of Republicans support J6, which was probably the worst political violence, not in terms of life and death, but in terms of potential consequence, in any of our lifetimes.  We also have  these BS “alligator” and “corn” camps that a mass of Republicans undoubtedly support.

So this isn’t a “one side is more wrong than the other deal.”  Somebody just has to nut up and acknowledge that we’re all wrong, that the degree of wrong at this point is immaterial, and that we have to figure out how to disagree respectfully and cordially again without the vitriol and hyperbole and performative outrage and victimization.  We’ve got a good thing going and we Shouldn’t let hurt feelings and largely inconsequential BS mess it up.

We're done here.

It’s true.  They do.  As do democrats.  We all have to be better and own what we’ve all done to get to this point.  Nobody is without fault.
