All businesses face headwinds, and that's why this inane, illegal and anti-business tariff is so stupid.

You sound like a politician with your talk of 'headwinds'.  What he actually seems to say is that onerous governmental regulation in NY and NJ has impacted his ability to thrive, and that seemingly was a problem before Trump was elected.  Add to that a change in consumer preference, it sounds like he was on a downhill roll before the tariffs were levied. I wonder if, absent the issues he was already facing, the tariffs are less of a concern.

You sent a link over, I read the link, read up on the guy and offered thoughts on the situation as he described it.  You’re not restricted from discussing nuances—well, you might be because you’re a simpleton taking marching orders from your betters.   I’m not.

It is ok to think deeper, dig deeper, and have conversations.  This is how we learn, and it may have helped  you avoid losing your shirt when you went all in with your Beanie Babies investment at the top of the market.

No, you were just changing the topic away from tariffs. Stop being dishonest

I mean, if you can. Probably just too deeply ingrained in your nature.

Simple question.

With tariffs ranging from 100% to 20% with all the major trading partners, steel, aluminum, agriculture, autos, lumber, and if the economy is doing well as trump suggests  where is the money.

theoretically with hundreds of billions coming into the country covered by tariffs that should have increased the government voffers.....imports have not dropped significantly or have been replaced with internal produced goods....which creates jobs, and income tax, thousands were laid off or terminated, education costs were slashed...show me the money.

I understand that you may be incapable of juggling multiple thoughts at the same time, but  others can.

To break it down so you understand— by you, I mean you.  By others, I mean me (and others).

Interesting exchange between Gorsuch and DOJ lawyer....

He sure sounds like a no vote on allowing the executive this power

My take, after listening (sometimes while multi-tasking admittedly) to the oral arguments:

- The 3 liberal justices will shoot it down. There is some inconsistency there, as Kagan specifically said Biden's student loan forgiveness was kosher if I remember correctly.

- I strongly believe Barrett will shoot it down. She is known for the most strict reliance on the wording of the statute, and here the statute says nothing about tariffs. So that's 4 votes against the tariffs.

- The 5th (and maybe 6th) votes could come from Roberts and Gorsuch.

You keep bringing it up, Tibs.  Let it go.

hey  Leo

so the jury is still out on wether or not tariffs are legal. Is money being collected as we speak and it will need returned if the court decides he went outside of his power to charge them?

I need cliff notes regarding this issue. Tariffs 101.

AND if money is coming in, where is it and where does it go?

thanks. m
