All he had to do is throw Cannon a bone, pretty much anything but this: In Tuesday's filing, an attorney representing Trump in his private capacity urged Judge Cannon to extend her order delaying the Smith report's release, arguing it would "perpetuate Jack Smith's unlawful criminal investigations and proceedings." It's not possible to "perpetuate the investigations and proceedings", because the case has already been dismissed by her, and the investigation ended. She can't rule in favor of that. He better hope she makes up some nonsense again.
