That's some wildly unclear writing, if so, but if that's what you meant, then it is correct that we are indeed below the cap currently by an amount that the NFL and the Bills have on file, and it's indeed very close to the amounts that Spotrac and OvertheCap have. Unless they act in a way that Brandon Beane has never acted and kick a lot of cans down the road. He could indeed do that. But it's not likely. But they predict they will have a few contracts they can keep in their pocket as options to cash in as kicked cans if they need money. They called them coupons that they could cash in if they want. They already have a strong idea of what the cap will be in 2023 and 2024 so they can pretty quick work on restructures that include adding more years to the contract. I think they will probably go into free agency with money to spend. But I think the skepticism from other posters saying we dont have cap is warranted. Do expect a few, though. That is the way he has always worked. And yes, certainly expect players released to create cap space. And a bunch more given a choice of a salary reduction or a release. It honestly be a win/win for both sides especially if Edmunds lands with a defensive coach and scheme that provide a better fit for his skill set. I agree, lets open up a massive hole right in the middle of our defense. Just because Edmunds plays a different style (likely one that Frazier and McD like) doesnt make him a bad player. We need a true run stopping one tech- we haven't had one for the last few years. I dont think anyone on this board knows ( I certainly dont) what is being asked of Edmunds in this defense. Is he supposed to be a guy that plays downhill, is he supposed to just clog up passing lanes because he is so big and athletic, is he struggling because we dont really have a true run stopping defensive line?
