More or less. Missed his whole rookie year, but after that it was clear he was going to be very good. I'm not trying to drag Knox here but it shouldn't be a shock to anyone, him included, if he's out of the league in a couple years. So few tight ends with high potential make it. and while he had some really nice plays last year, we should not in any way count on him to become a pro bowler at this stage. I really hope he does though, because I think we all love his style.

TE has got to be one of the most difficult positions to project in terms of the draft.  There’s really very little correlation between draft slot and NFL success.  Off the top of my head, I can’t think of a great one since Tony Gonzalez who was drafted in the first round.  
Gates: undrafted

Hernandez:  4th round 

Gronkowski:  2nd round

Ertz:  2nd round

Kelce:  3rd round

Kittle:  5th round

If you look at their roster makeup they are giving big contracts to about 9-10 guys.

Their roster is devoid of "middle of the road" 4-8 million dollar contracts.

At some point though isn’t it going to catch up to them?  It seems like a lot of players signed contracts that were very team friendly in the first year

Maybe, maybe not.  Lot's of teams have used this roster makeup model before.  It's a continuous balancing act.

My main point was to show how they can sign all these big contracts right now.

They will be tight against the cap next year and we'll see how they handle their FA's.

I'm pretty sure Sammy Watkins is not signing another big contract with them.

Kansas City has some bad contracts come off the books after the 2020 season.  They’re in great shape.  Not much cap room but enough to supplement their superstars with draft picks and cheaper free agents at less critical positions.

Kind of what has been said, I’m very hopeful for Knox right now, but even talking him in the same breath as Kittle it Kelce is insane.  First of all his name doesn’t start with a K, but secondly he dropped more balls last year the the 2 of them combined for the last 2 years.  He made some really nice plays and he has the physical tools to be elite, BUT so have a lot of other guys. A great athlete does not guarantee great football success. He’s full of potential and was sure fun to watch on the run with the ball, he could be special, but Karlos Williams looked to be star bound and we see how that ended, so we have to temper our expectations a lot a bit.
