That's the Right Wing story line but it's not supported by historical fact, especially in the early 1930s when Hitler was establishing and consolidating his power. Hitler was not appointed Chancellor until 1933 and did not become Fuhrer until 1934. While he was pushing the rise of the Nationalist Socialists during the early 1930's he did not have the leverage of formally being a national leader. So what is really your point here?
