Sweden is headed towards lockdown because their strategy has failed.

Are you in denial or do you really not understand what is happening in Sweden, now?

Or is this just typical Trumplike stamping of feet and denying facts?

De-Nial ain't a just a river in Egypt.   Trumplets share the same alternative universe as their hero where they all deny any facts that they don't like.

Sweden has had 5,933 deaths from Covid. Every few days we get another story how Sweden is a death trap. It's just not the case. Every death hurts, but 6K is a blip. Sorry your religion of covid is fake.

Norway and Finland are doing better than Sweden.

If Sweden is doing so well, why are they abandoning their policy and going into lockdown?

Nice job, Pence.

Mark Short, VP Mike Pence's chief of staff, plus at least 2 other VP staffers, have tested positive for Covid-19.   Mike Pence will continue his campaign tour instead of quarantining for 14 days as CDC guidelines recommends because being a politician running for office makes him "an essential worker".

WH Chief of Staff Mark Meadows apparently tried to suppress the news of these positive tests.

Rounding the corner with Captain Ahole at the wheel:

The words of Dr. William Haseltine, an internationally renowned infectious disease expert, summarized the resounding—and sobering—takeaway from several public health experts and epidemiologists who spoke to The Daily Beast on Saturday, hours after the U.S. smashed its previous record of new daily COVID-19 cases. The country hit 83,757 reported infections in one day on Friday, while hospitalizations rocketed across the nation by 40 percent.

The problem, experts say, isn’t Friday’s number. It’s the upward trajectory.

“It’s going to get a lot worse,” said Dr. Haseltine, who was at the heart of the U.S response to the HIV/AIDS and anthrax crises. “We’re looking at easily an excess of 100,000 infections a day and overwhelmed hospitals all over the country.”
