As a child I read 2 sets of encyclopedias by age 8 (World Book was one, Encyclopædia Britannica) and it amazed teachers when I would be giving corrections to them. I'd point out differences between sets I had and sets in library and find other references to show which was correct. Sometimes I'd get comment "you need to send that in to publisher" and one teacher would help me write a letter. Encyclopædia Britannica sent me a thank you letter and told me correction would be in next edition.
