This is a case and point of why they should not be. My wife used to work for one of the ginormous banks. One of her buddies was in a division that was created to do nothing but recruit, plan, advise and invest for professional athletes. Pretty cool idea (and job), but it was indeed shocking to hear the tales of how a brother, uncle or otherwise completely unqualified person was in charge of “advising” athletes.
