5 questions...

Recommended Posts

1. Will the O-Line protect Drew and open holes in the running game?

2. Will the run "D" wake up and shut people down?

3. Will Drew get rid of the ball?

4. Will the "D" continue to force turnovers?

5. Will Kelsay put pressure on opposing QB's?

If the Bills can make 3 out of 5 happen, I forsee a 10-6 record and a playoff berth.

I'd add a key question as to wether the Bills ST that showed up the first two games or the Bills ST which played in the last two games is going to show up?

If the ST plays as poorly as it did againt Indy, both the O and the D can play well and it will not matter in terms of the game outcome.

If there are five questions like that...we aren't going to any playoffs.  I think your questions 4 and 5 are probably no's and I do believe the answer to the first three will be yes.  In my calculus the playoffs are a stretch, but doable with a bit of luck.

Hey, you and I disagree. What a surprise! :):flirt:

I think that there is reason to believe that the pass rush can improve with Kelsay and Denney gaining more experience, and with Schobel entering his prime as well as unrestricted free agency. These facts alone could account for questions 4 and 5.

As for question 1, I am hopeful but not very confident. For 10 years, every time I am happy to see something on the Bills OL, I have found myself looking at a Kris Farris, Joe Panos, or Marcus Spriggs.

That said, IF the OL can protect Drew, and the team stays relatively healthy, 10 wins and the playoffs are surely within the realm of possibility.

Absolutely agree. I was at that Colts game and I am hoping that ST performance was an anomaly. The ST looked overmatched, disorganized, and weak.

By the way, was there any truth to the claim that we only had 10 people on the field during the blocked punt?

Yes...it's true

I think the surprise of the year for the Bills won't be a player, but will be a unit. Namely, the Offensive Line.

I just have a feeling that by the fifth week or so, they will have all the pistons firing and will make last year's disaster a distant memory.

Gregg Williams: There it is!

Ralph Wilson: The Playoffs!

Kevin Gilbride: Oh, great.

RW: Look! There's the old man from Super Bowl XXV!

Tom Donahoe: What is he doing here?

RW: He is the keeper of the Playoffs. He asks each contender five questions--

GW: Three questions.

RW: Three questions. He who answers the five questions--

GW: Three questions.

RW: Three questions may cross in safety.

KG: What if you get a question wrong?

RW: Then you are cast into the Gorge of January Golf.

KG: Oh, I won't go.

GW: Who's going to answer the questions?

RW: Sir Killdrive!

KG: Yes?

RW: Brave Sir Killdrive, you go.

KG: Hey! I've got a great idea. Why doesn't Jerry Grey go?

Jerry Grey: Yes. Let me go, my liege. I will take him single-handed. I shall make a feint to the north-east that s--

RW: No, no. No. Hang on! Hang on! Hang on! Just answer the five questions--

GW: Three questions.

RW: Three questions as best you can, and we shall watch... and pray.

JG: I understand, my liege.

RW: Good luck, brave Sir Grey. God be with you.

BRIDGEKEEPER: Stop! Who would cross into the Playoffs must answer me these questions three, ere the other side he see.

JG: Ask me the questions, bridgekeeper. I am not afraid.

BRIDGEKEEPER: What... is your name?

JG: My name is 'Sir Jerry Grey of Orchard Park'.

BRIDGEKEEPER: What... is your quest?

JG: To seek the Playoffs.

BRIDGEKEEPER: What... is your favourite colour?

JG: Blue.

BRIDGEKEEPER: Right. Off you go.

JG: Oh, thank you. Thank you very much.

KG: That's easy!

BRIDGEKEEPER: Stop! Who approacheth the Playoffs must answer me these questions three, ere the other side he see.

KG: Ask me the questions, bridgekeeper. I'm not afraid.

BRIDGEKEEPER: What... is your name?

KG: 'Sir Killdrive of Orchard Park'.

BRIDGEKEEPER: What... is your quest?

KG: To seek the Playoffs.

BRIDGEKEEPER: What... is the capital of Assyria?

[pause]

KG: I don't know that! Auuuuuuuugh!

BRIDGEKEEPER: Stop! What... is your name?

GW: 'Sir Greggg of Orchard Park'.

BRIDGEKEEPER: What... is your quest?

GW: I seek the Playoffs.

BRIDGEKEEPER: What... is your favourite colour?

GW: Blue. No, yel-- auuuuuuuugh!

BRIDGEKEEPER: Hee hee heh. Stop! What... is your name?

RW: It is 'Ralph Wilson', Owner of the Bills.

BRIDGEKEEPER: What... is your quest?

RW: To seek the Playoffs.

BRIDGEKEEPER: What... is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?

RW: What do you mean? An African or European swallow?

BRIDGEKEEPER: Huh? I-- I don't know that. Auuuuuuuugh!

TD: How do know so much about swallows?

RW: Well, you have to know these things when you're an owner, you know.

1.Pass protection will be better(it's all relative) and yes

2.They will be solid.

3.Let's see what happens when the live bullets start flying. Saw some positive signs during camp.

4.Yes. Once again, it's hard to be any worse than last year.

5.I'm still not sold that this DL can pressure the QB consistently without the aid of blitzers or blanket coverage in the secondary.

yep, special teams ,o-line , penaltys I think we live or die this season by these three things

They're definitely all part of the formula,

but I still say we live or die this season by Bledsoe's performance.
