Even though you are consistently wrong about EVERYTHING, I trust you as an economist. Can you explain to me why we should trust UMich? The data below makes it seem like they are the collegiate equivalent of you.

Let’s trust the Crypto gym bro instead of a trusted and evidence-based university. Sure. Whatever helps you sleep at night knowing Trump is an infallible angel.
Wacka Posted August 15 Posted August 15 Looking just now, the Dow is at an all time high and ny retirement is up ~10% since New Years Day! That's not return projected for the whole year, but actual gain since 1/1/25.

Whatever helps you sleep at night knowing Trump is an infallible angel. Ok. Let’s see what UMich has to say about the chart you have shared via Joe Weisenthal: Consumer sentiment fell back about 5% in August, declining for the first time in four months. This deterioration largely stems from rising worries about inflation. Buying conditions for durables plunged 14%, its lowest reading in a year, on the basis of high prices. Current personal finances declined modestly amid growing concerns about purchasing power. In contrast, expected personal finances inched up a touch along with a slight firming in income expectations, which remain subdued. Overall, consumers are no longer bracing for the worst-case scenario for the economy feared in April when reciprocal tariffs were announced and then paused. However, consumers continue to expect both inflation and unemployment to deteriorate in the future. Year-ahead inflation expectations rose from 4.5% last month to 4.9% this month. This increase was seen across multiple demographic groups and all three political affiliations. Long-run inflation expectations also lifted from 3.4% in July to 3.9% in August. This month ended two consecutive months of receding inflation for short-run expectations and three straight months for long-run expectations. Still, both readings remain well below the highs seen briefly in April and May 2025. Obviously I am highlighting those things that make me think this data is not a disaster. None of it good, but FAR from a disaster. With the price of bananas and coffee, I would think we are in the midst of a disaster. The UMich report of this data was the opposite of a disaster the last two months. Let’s make sure we have our pitchforks ready for when next month’s report comes out. Just in case. The infallible angel part is just dumb. It’s the Tiberius in you coming out. Nice work.

B-Man Posted September 3 Posted September 3 No surprise. Who Did Better, Biden or Trump? The Committee to Unleash Prosperity has analyzed household income growth and decline during the first Trump administration and the Biden administration, as well as the eight Obama years. The results are striking: President Trump gained ten times more income for the average family than Joe Biden. Every income group did better under Trump than Biden — by a wide margin. *** Real median household income grew ten times more under Trump ($6,400) than under Biden ($550). Real median household income grew more in Trump’s first four years in office ($6,400) than they did combined in Obama’s eight years in office and Biden’s one term in office ($5,550). Income for lower income Americans (the income cutoff to be in the bottom 25%) ROSE by $3,959 under Trump and fell under Biden (-$170). The Biden policies made the poor slightly poorer, because of the high inflation over that (2020-2024) period. *** The lowest income category of Americans had the largest gains of income under Trump. The bottom 25% gained 10% in income, the median household gained 8% and the richest 25% gained 7%. Charts and description of methodology at the link. The report points out that the data would have favored the Trump administration even more, but for the covid shutdowns of 2020. https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2025/09/who-did-better-biden-or-trump.php .

B-Man Posted September 10 Posted September 10 Oh, I'm just praying that one of our lefties say "you can't believe those numbers" .
SectionC3 Posted September 10 Posted September 10 One way to lower inflation is to shrink the economy and have lousy job numbers.

Ohhh you mean the thing that Trumo recently tried to pass off as a hoax and that caused him to fire the statistician and that shows what a crappy job Trump is going for working class Americans? That thing? Also, I’ll let your insult slide. It’s obvious you’re a little slow, and probably an incel, so I take no offense at your inciting language. Edited September 10 by SectionC3

I'm actually seeing my gf later today if it makes you feel better! 8 minutes ago, SectionC3 said: Ohhh you mean the thing that Trumo recently tried to pass off as a hoax and that caused him to fire the statistician and that shows what a crappy job Trump is going for working class Americans? You just don’t seem like the type of guy who appeals to members of the opposite sex. At least that’s what lots of people are saying. Edited September 10 by SectionC3
