Cry and complain all you want about this team, but since the start of 2015 the Buffalo Bills rank 9th in the NFL (and 3rd in the AFC) in points scored with 632 (or 24.3/game).

The top 10:

1. Panthers - 743

2. Patriots - 737

3. Cardinals - 716

4. Saints - 693

5. Steelers - 660

6. Falcons - 659

7. Redskins - 641

8. Hawks - 641

9. Bills - 632

10. Raiders - 630

In 26 games we have scored 25 or more points 14 times.

Shady has missed or been ineffective due to injury at least 8 of those games (almost 1/3 of the games).

Sammy has missed or been ineffective due to injury in at least 13 of those games (exactly half).

We are exactly .500 over the last 26 games but I think overall, the arrow is pointing up. Being in the top 10 in the NFL in points scored over the span of more than a season and a half is noteworthy, and certainly no fluke.

Credit needs to be given to the coaching staff and the players that have stepped up at WR, the OL, RB, and certainly TT.

Cool ran some points up in some wins against bad teams Can't score in losses against good teams .500 team great

Nobody is happy that we're not in a better position in terms of W/L. I think the OP is trying to find a reason to optimistic, and he should be lauded for it.

Because it is lipstick on a pig. Doesn't say anything put it in context and where those points were scored then it means something

No different saying look this guy can get pressure he has 10 sacks this season. Context was he had 6 against a bad OL and then had 4 over the other 15 games

You are right, scoring points is stupid, who cares if we do or not? Think before you post, Bobby.

Context? Its over 26 games not 3 games. You dont think other teams on that list pile up points vs bad teams like we do? Or do the Patriots only play above .500 teams??

The sample size is large enough to be significant. Put your lipstick back in your pocket.

Jesus it's context. Maybe it is trending great. But just posting point totals mean nothing. What did we rack 30plus against a 2 win team.

Cool scored a lot of points in the same time still essentially .500 so where is the context because something is causing the fact we can't win double digit football games yet score a lot of total points when you add all the games up.

But hey that would be to hard to make a stat meaningful

Points are what wins games Bobby. The more you score, the more likely you are to win games. Unless you are going to go and count garbage time points for every other team, I'm not sure what your point is. You should consider trying to punctuate more, it'll make your posts easier to read.

no matter how you slice it, theres no way you can argue against being top 10 in scoring in the NFL over more than a season and a half. The offensive line has been awesome overall. RB's have stepped up. Woods stepped up. TT has held his own despite some key losses around him. The coaching staff has obviously done its part on the offensive side

How do we go forward from here as a team? Continue to play solid defense, limit penalties and get healthy.

Context. Cool we have scored a lot of points. We still don't win a lot of games. So where are we scoring point? Just winning games big? Exploiting bad teams? What's the point differential between the wins and losses?

See context this stat really doesn't say anything other than since 2015 we scored a lot of points but are still .500

The context you need to look at is that offense is 1/3 of the equation of an NFL team, with defense and special teams completing the rest.

Why do you come off as doubtful of how the Bills got to 9th but wont even entertain how the saints are so high despite having a crap record. When you talk about the saints are you looking at "context". What about the Falcons? Do you question the "context" there?

Its impossible to break down every point of context you want bc youre looking to do nothing but disregard the obvious: the bills are pretty good, and certainly better than average, at putting up points.

How do we improve above .500? Play solid defense, limit penalties, get healthy, and continue to execute on offense.

Of course it's context Bobby. We also may be giving up a lot of points of defense, which is also why we're stuck at 500. No one it refuting that its not showing the entire picture, you're just having trouble figuring out the larger point. I'm not sure why you keep posting the same thing over an over. But scoring more points, for a football team, is a good thing. But please don't reply with "Context" again. We get it, you understand the concept of statistics in a contextual fashion.

Having a mediocre record and a high point total would suggest we are a boom or bust team. 40 points one week and two field goals the next gives you 23 PPG.

Thank you this is what I am talking about. But I am happy that we score points. Better than the Sabres problem of not scoring points

C'mon.. They scored 25 at Miami, at Seattle and vs. New England. 32 vs. Jets. They should've squeezed out one or two wins in that group of games.. Where's the D when you need em?!?
