JPL's most potent target at Tulane was Roydell Williams (WR). He averaged 82.6

yards per game connecting up with JP. Roydell is ranked on value boards at mid-4th to early 5th right now. Look for TD to make a play for JP's most favorite target.

correction. pro personnel people don't care much about former player connections from college. if they did, you'd see more QBs throwing to their college WRs. As much as you might think it a good thing, it could also become a bad thing. JP might develop a preference for locking onto him. It might produce in JP a desire to pump up his buddie's stats, and subconciously look for him when he shouldn't. You never know. But I do know that you don't see NFL personnel men trying to link their players with their college chums.

I had a similiar thought in an older thread but it was more inpart because thought Williams would be available where we were picking and he offers the size and speed to be a solid position WR and eventual successor to Eric Moulds.

I'd agree, plus with Aiken playing better at the end of the year, we've got 3, maybe 4 good WRs, so the need for another WR isn't great.

If the Bills think that RW is a good WR and can get him in the 4th, I say go for it and don't worry about his college connection to JP becoming a bad thing. Another WR JP trusts can't be a bad thing, and if JP can rely on RW and open things up because teams can't concentate on Moulds and Evans, so much the better. And I think Josh is done and Aiken still hasn't shown enough yet to be anything more than a 4th WR.

Don't forget about Jonathan "Fast Freddie" Smith, I think he should be our primary punt returner next year and could eventually become a Antwaan Randle-El type ie a 3rd/4th WR.

It's just amazing how when you watch other teams how much more second tier receivers are more involved in the offense than they are with the Bills. The Steelers and the Patriots are obvious examples that come to mind. Unfortunately it's hard to tell whether the problem is that Bledsoe locks in on certain receivers more or if we actually suck in this area.

Primary punt returner (and why not kickoff returner, at least to save McGee?) definitely. As a WR, he's as much an unknown as anyone. I don't know if the Bills can afford to hope he develops, but that's their decision.

The Steelers under Mularkey rarely got more than the top-3 WR's involved. And the players beyond Moulds and Evans aren't exactly great, so it's partly system and partly the receivers.

Save McGee? The guy is a Pro Bowl Kick Returner, the only way I'd save McGee is as a return man, ie I'd prefer he be our nickel back and kick off return specialist and have a career like Allen Rossum.

Well with McGee playing CB more, I'm worried about him getting injured. But being a Pro Bowler, he's a great kick returner. I'd just like to see Smith get a shot to see if he could do a decent job there.

Josh Reed is UFA after 2005

Sam Aiken is RFA after 2005

WR may be more a need than we think. We need a steady, productive #3 WR. I would like to see David Patten here to fill that role. Howeve, if a WR the Bills ranked as a #1 pick falls to our pick in rd 2, you take him. Do not pass up quality players. Bills used this strategy in 2003 and we got some guy named McGahee

I would love to see Reggie Brown (Georgia) find his way here

I want any WR but Craphonso Whatshisname from FSU.  I don't want any player who shares the nickname for a piece of sh--!

Seriously....I know nothing about this guy or where he will even be drafted. :P

Craphonso (pronounced cra-fonso ;)) Thorpe is a solid WR...hes not a burner, but can make the tough catches...but does have enough speed where defenses hafta respect him...hes the same TYPE of WR that Moulds is...thorpe would have prolly declared last year, but in the season finale, he broke his leg...
