Lay out the contract (years/money) for ease of the game just divide salary by years. 2. Spend as much as you want however you want (extensions for current players/fa signings) 3. Build the best team possible! My signings: 1. Austin Howard RT 4 years/ 20 million total - 5 million spent 2. Geoff Schwartz LG 4 year/ 20 million total - 10 million spent 3. Carpenter was great but I could live with Hopkins. Carpenter would depend on what the real free agency number would be. Same goes for the Dareus extension. If he would take a team friendly deal I wouldn't mind him back but I just don't care for him. He is my Stevie Johnson. The hate that others have for Stevie is how I feel about Chandler. He will have a bad drop, he will disappear for long stretches, and then when I am down on him the most he will make a great 3rd down catch. He is maddening to me which is why I want a te in the draft this year. The Bills have to maximize profits, which means they have to walk a line of not spending a whole lot on players, while signing players to sell the fans on. If we have 20mil in cap room, I don't feel we'll spend to that line, but somewhere lower, and I want to keep that in mind when "playing". Or I could just shut up and apologize for derailing. I'm not 100% sure my figures are correct, but I think that the cap this year is $133 million and the target minimum spend is 90%, which would make the number $119-$120 million. Where it gets complicated is that I read that teams need to average 89% or more over the 2013-2016 seasons, so it's not just a 1-year figure. Last year the target was 85% and some teams actually spent less. That will just mean that they have to spend more later. I'd like to see who's going to give MJD more than $4/yr at 29yrs old and especially with the mileage on those legs. I could see an incentive laden contract but I don't think he wants that. Then again, at his age, he's not in a position to demand anything. Maybe the Raiders will blow him out of the water.
