Belichek was smart in asking Wilfork to take a pay cut after the opening of free agency, basically letting the market flood itself out in the hopes that no one bites on him for big money. 3 years 12 mil with 5 guaranteed. For as much grief as these guys take, they are highly skilled, not to mention having to perform under pressure in sometimes inclement weather. Apparently he and his agen gave KC a verbal agreement ("deal in principle") that they were going to sign there but took the visit to Denver. KC is saying they reneged and are splashing it all over the media. Apparently there is a clause in the CBA where KC can file a grievance for bad faith negotiations.
