Mario on Forbes Overpaid List

Recommended Posts

Yea to name any athlete as overpaid isn't too hard of an observation. Yet he'll earn his pay in this defense. Pettine has a great line scheme that definitely plays to his strengths. You saw it when he was able to get the edge and sack Luck and in the same game, recognize a TE shift and called it out. Unfortunately the rest of the line didn't listen and didn't shift and gave up a six yard run. But had they listened, it would have been stuffed. You can see his comfort level growing and his ability as well. Expect good things

I get it but you have to do something in the 1st place to get overpaid. Mario was #1 overall pick, made pro bowls, multiple double digit sack seasons, & plays a premium position. And if the Bills didnt pay him, some other team would have.

Teams aren't paying him just because he has a great personality.

MAybe what Forbes is getting at, by describing him as the most overpayed, is that no other team would have paid what the Bills would have.

As the highest paid defender in the league, if he was at least the best player in the league at his position (forget the best D player overall), he wouldn't be viewed as overpayed.

To mention overpaid and pro athlete in same sentence is redundant.

This.

Wasn't Chris Kelsay on that list a few years ago?

Couldn't disagree with you guys more.

Some are overpaid. Some are underpaid. Some are fairly paid.
