I am heading up to Buffalo for the Eagles game in Oct. I am bringing a couple from Florida that has never been to the area. I typically head up and hang out with family so I am looking for a couple of suggestions for things to take them to during the days before Sunday. Already have the Falls and wing locations covered. BTW I apologize for posting yet another what to do....... I did a quick search and was not able to find anything.

What type of activities are they interested in? any more feedback would be helpful to give suggestions

Sure, and let me also add that since the Sabres play on Sat afternoon I would like some suggestions of a good bar to watch the game. As for activities, not a 100 percent sure but I would imagine museums, historical landmarks, a good place for the ladies to shop and the guys to duck in somewhere to have a drink.

Just to add some suggestions. A train ride on the Erie Canal Heritage Corridor would be a way to get a different view of the region.

You can also go for a pleasant walk on the breakwall at the foot of Ferry on Niagra ST on the westside/blackrock area. I find it very enjoyable to be walking along the fast paced river in the midst of the fishermen/women.

A trip to the Albert Knox Art Gallery would be something to consider if your group is into the arts. That area has a number of stately historic homes and open green spaces.

Try to find activities and locations that are unique to the area. There is nothing novel about bar scenes. They exist everywhere. So consider an activity or location that can be memorable to someone who isn't familiar to the area.

The Burchfeild Penny center is across Elmwood from the Abright- Knox too, real nice area around them too (Deleware park and the streets around that side of the Albright have some nice homes to see). Also there is the Martin house (by Frank Loyd Wright).

Have the ladies hit up the Elmwood strip, enough shopping to last the entire day while you guys stop by Pearl Street Grille (probably best place for the game) or Cobblestone for the Sabres game

-Frank Lloyd Wright house is pretty cool

-Albright Knox Art Gallery is really nice as someone else mentioned

-Seneca Niagara Casino

Someone else mentioned Clifton Hill which is a very good idea (as long as everyone has passport or enhanced license). Bars, restaurants, shopping, Niagara Falls, casino, and if you lose the girls the Sundowner might be an option :)

Be safe and enjoy your trip!

I live in Massachusetts and whenever I return for a game with people from outside the area, I always do the Anchor Bar for wings and take a ride up to Niagara Falls. I usually hit the Canadian wineries in Niagara on the Lake and you can always do the casino's in Niagara (both sides) as well. We have been known to hit the Buffalo bars just to show that the city is not "dead" like some of our ex-Bills have implied. The architecture and musueums that were previously mentioned are great stops.

Letchworth Park or Ellicottville in October are both pretty awesome.

+1 keep in mind that Florida's trees don't change colors. The views and the color change in October should be beautiful.

Isn't that also the area where McKinley was shot?

As a history buff, the naval yards impressive. Went to Fort Niagara and the one on the other side. Took a drive around Rochester, followed the canals a bit- a motorcycle cop gave me some good drives. DIdn't get lost once. Plenty to do.
