Lance Kendricks

Im not sure if any of you have seen him play, but this kid is Legit. He not only is a beast catching the Ball, But he can Block too. At 6-4 241 lbs, he seems to have all the tools. He can probably be had in the bottom 2nd top of the 3rd rounds as well. I know this team still has plenty of holes to fill, but this kid can be a very good addition.

Highlights:

He also just looks like a real TE. Nelson hasnt developed the way we were hoping yet (yes he missed a few games, but hes only got 3 catches on the year) and David Martin isnt the answer either. I think Kendricks could help in all phases of the game. If the D shores up a bit over the next few games, I hope they really gives this kid a look. His teammate Gabe Carimi I think looks like the best Tackle in the country too, based on my meaningless observations.

If the D doesnt get better though, Im not sure hed be the best use of our 2nd/3rd round pick. Thoughts?

Well, sounds good but we really need OTs and front 7. We need a real run stuffing nose and slide Kyle to end, which means we also need another end and all the linebackers but Poz. Are first pick should be Robert Quinn then Carimi in the second if they are there. We need a TE but next year (2012)would be better. (should have drafted Gronkowski)

The Bills need to go after Zack Miller of the Raiders HARD if he makes it to free agency.

Free Agent TE is the way to go. TE is a position where a rookie rarely thrives. Plus the offense seems to do just fine without a TE right now.

Finding a pass rushing specialist like Jeremy Beal is much higher priority in the draft for round 2-3.

Good Pass rushers rarely hit Free Agent Market and when they do they cost a buttload.

Look at Peppers last season.

Jeremy Beal Oklahoma 6-3 263

They played him at Saftey on some plays because he has enough speed, not world case OLB speed, but enough to keep up with a TE, thats pretty crazy for a dude at 263.

He was ideal size for an OLB and has OK speed.

Thing is, aforementioned Raiders TE Zach Miller had pretty decent rookie year - 44 catches/444 yds, 3 TDs, 24 first downs - and can block. I'd be very happy with him, or with Lance Kendricks - haven't focused on him at all because I've been paying too much attention to Carimi, but one thing we know is that Wisconsin guys can block...

Badgers run ball 29 straight times during second half

Unfortunately, we can only draft one player per round (unless we trade for more picks), and Kendrick is projected as a 2nd-3rd round guy - I agree with the camp that says we need help on D in the early rounds. (If Kendricks is still there in round 4 where we have 2 picks, sure, grab him.)

Right now I'm hoping for Gabe Carimi in round one (I still think Luck stays in school - but even if I'm wrong about that, Luck AND Mallett will both be gone by the time the Bills pick.)

I like Nevada's Dontay Moch over Beal in round 2, mainly for Moch's speed (he runs the 40 faster than CJ Spiller)...

The NFL scouts didn't believe their stopwatches. They were the ones who timed the run. They were the ones who saw it happen. But they didn't believe it. Nevada's Dontay Moch had just run 40 yards in 4.18 seconds. That would be among the fastest times ever recorded.

In disbelief, they made him run again. He clocked 4.08 on his second try. That time is almost inhuman. So they made him run again. On his third and final try, he covered the 40 yards in 4.2 seconds. Maybe he was a little tired, but even that time is run by only the most nimble wide receivers and cornerbacks.

Imagine a 6-1, 245-pound defensive end such as Moch running it. Unthinkable. "He has freakish talent," Wolf Pack defensive coordinator Andy Buh said. "Freakish talent. That would be my two words for Dontay Moch. When he puts his mind to it, he's unstoppable."

And I'm kind of fixed on this Owen Marecic kid - Stanford's 2-way standout - in round 3 or 4...

A player like Marecic would be loved here in BuffTown - a FB/ILB/ST standout...

Back to defense, don't forget that Pitt's Greg Romeus may be there past round 4 - maybe right until the end. Depending on what his doctors say, I'd certainly burn a 7th round pick on a former 1st or 2nd round DE prospect. (With his latest ALC injury, he likely won't have any combine #'s - but hey, he can't turn out any worse than Kyle Calloway!)

GO BILLSSS!!!!

It'll be ' heaven ' in 2011 !!!!! B-)

Does that mean we will trade down to get him? Just curious, picking him anywhere from 2-7 would be way too high IMO.

From what i've heard & seen a few of there offensive line guys wouldn't be a bad pick up either , i think they have like one of the biggest & best O lines in college !!!

You're referring to Carimi, I think?

JMO, but I don't see the Bills picking before the 8th spot - maybe even closer to the middle - of the round, barring trades.

Twenty-nine straight running plays...

I'd say the o-line is pretty good! (Wisconsin is an o-line ' factory '.)

If you want to see these guys, tune in to the Wisconsin/Northwestern game Saturday - Wisconsin's playing for at least a piece of the Big 10 Conference title - we'll get a good look at Kendricks, and might see Carimi's draft stock skyrocket.

I am all on board with Defensive help. But let me ask you this: I have been reading many (very) early mock drafts, and it seems the consensus #1 TE is Kyle Rudolph out of ND. I have only seen 1 or 2 that have him going in the 1st round. If we pick, say 4th, and we get Mallett or a LT with our 1st pick and Rudolph is still on the board rd 2, do you grab him? It would be either the 6th or 7th best pass rusher in the draft, or the top TE prospect. Id have to say w/ TE being a position of need, albeit not as much as pass rusher, you would have to really consider it. And it seems this may be a real possibility. Of course, this is all subject to, and very well may change, but Id say the top TE prospect > 6th best pass rusher. Thoughts on this?

Just trying to make some discussions outside the topics of Fitz/Stevie/Lee Evans sucks

Im very certain Carimi will be available at our 2nd round pick, and potentially even our third if we get really lucky. His feet are not nimble and he bends a lot at the waist and not at the knees. I think it will hurt him more as a prospect than as a player, and would love him to our RT in the future.

But if that Nevada guy can run that at the combine I doubt he gets past teh Raiders. That said, if speed and quickness were all the matter Maybin would be on the active roster - there is a lot more to a good player than that.

Zach Miller has been putting-up excellent numbers for a TE for the past 3 years (he's in his 4th year) and is on-pace for 64 receptions for 835 yards and 7 TD's, which would all be career highs, save catches (he had 66 last year). I'd definitely like for the Bills to go for him in FA and use a draft pick elsewhere. Assuming there's a CBA and it's still 4 years to UFA.

Rudolph is probably staying in school another year since he had a season ending leg injury.
