Why not build it on the edge of the falls???

Recommended Posts

You guys are putting the cart before the horse. Seriously guys, who's gonna fund a new stadium ANYWHERE in WNY without a long-term commitment from the Bills? And by long-term I mean similar to the New Jersey Giants 25-year lease with options to 97 years.

And with all the union shake-downs in The Falls, it's take 25 years to build the damned thing there anyway.

Now if you's care to consider something other than total fantasy, there's about 1100 acres of waterfront land just south of downtown Buffalo on a major highway (Route 5) that arguably cannot rehabilitated for any viable use, except possible a football stadium with surrounding parking lots...

(They could even put a few more windmills up and market it as the NFL's first totally 'green' stadium! B-) )

Could it be that we don't live there? LOL And, as I've asked you many times already, how many of the seven natural wonders of the world have sports stadiums built on top of them. I'd like a straight answer, please.

Your logic that just because one of the other seven wonders does not have a stadium next to it somehow means it shouldn't be built in downtow Niagara is so stupid it does not deserve a response.

Where do you live guy? Are you even old enough to vote? LOL.

Not a bad thought Senator. However, I'm sticking with the Niagara option. Go grand or go home. LOL.

I always take route 5 coming from Canada to our hotel in Blasdell and have said the same thing for years. Plenty of room there and like you said lots of room for parking and more windmills. Tearing down a few of those eye sores wouldn't hurt either.

Holy crap @ that guy standing on the edge of the falls!

Since no one thinks we can build the stadium in NF, NY I have a NEW idea - we'll build the *ultimate* Rainbow Bridge, complete with a stadium in the middle. Half US, half Canada, all suspended awesomness.

Let's get the US Army Corps of Engineers and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police on this STAT!

I do love that Bills fans are so passionate that we argue over hypothetical stadiums. Let's Freaking Go Buffalo!!

Go grand or go home gentlemen. LOL. Go Bills!!

Thank you, thank you. I'll be performing on Sunday at Hammer's lot - first show starts at 9, second around 4.

Someone bring me paper and a sharpie and we'll put together a sketch of this (sketchy) stadium. I would add, doesn't "Rainbow Stadium" seem pretty all-inclusive? Yeah, I thought so...

Then why do some of you keep voiting these clowns back into office???? They are not appointed for life people, you do have the power to toss them out to the curb. Wake up.

We only get a few to choose from. AND more importantly, the people that really control things aren't necessarily elected. Like real estate developers. Or the Power and Thruway Authority hierarchies.

Lets topple these so the Bills can a have a stadium in Niagara Falls. So worth it!

To get rid of those people, you need to be able to swing a big f**king club in Albany. Good luck.

Would I need to go through Customs to move from the US side to the Canada side on game days? Or would Customs be before entering the stadium, making the stadium a DMZ type area?

The guys in the Falls? I grew up with them. I don't ever want to go there.

Somebody needs to have the cajones to sweep the garbage out of downtown Niagara so the place can climb out of the third world nation like rut it is currently stuck in. To have such a crappy town next to one of the seven wonders is an embarassment.

Sweep out the garbage, bulldoze the Day's Inn and some of the scuzzy joints nearby and build the damn thing. It will instantly spark revitalization. Being timid and saying "it will never work" is not bold...it is cowardly.

Okay Merle, what time you want to meet me over there in The Falls (how about next to the Falafel cart outside the Rainbow Mall) ? You bring the numchuks, I'll bring the Whoop Azz! You and I are gonna clean that town up!

Let's do it for Ralphy! Do it for RALPHY!!

Fantastic thought! There is no reason not to take full advantage of such a wonderful backdrop which would attract folks from around the world. We would be the envy of the league. Fact.

Yeah, it's a fact.

I've got another idea, why not put one right next to Old Faithful, too, right in Yelllowstone. It would be gorgeous. That team would be the envy of the league. Fact.

The idea is both impossible and stupid. The whole thing that makes the falls look majestic is that they're large. Put a gigantic ugly hunk of concrete next to it and people would leave saying "Jeez, the Falls didn't look that big at all. You could hide it behind the stadium. You could fill up the whole Canadian Falls with that stadium. It just didn't look as large as I'd imagined.

I'm sure the players would appreciate it too, especially during the winter when the mist from the falls would rise, as it does, and coat the ground, as it does, including the playing field, with a layer of slippery glare ice, as it does. I'm sure that would do wonders for the games. Two or three games a year with the players unable to stand up.

Yeah, this is a great idea. We should put one in the Grand Canyon, too.

It's a great idea to build next to the falls.

With all the hotels, attractions, casinos, tourist traps, what the hell, why not build a stadium there. Why you naysayers think it's going to be an eyesore? IDK! Please just stop already!

Bringing more people to WNY is what it is all about. A new stadium in downtown Buffalo isn't nearly the attraction a new stadium in downtown Niagara Falls would be. The opportunities created and the people attracted would be substantial in Niagara Falls compaired to Buffalo, because of everything else that is there.

You really have to be foolish and naive to NOT think this would be a home run for the economy of WNY, being built by the falls.

Potential Final 4, Super Bowl, college bowl game, etc. That would be a huge economic boost for all of WNY, and hopefully would give tons of incentive to make Niagara Falls, NY a real tourist destination again.

Apparently the knuckleheads who think it would be an eyesore must think downtown Niagara USA looks just swell as is. LOL. Sheesh.

Depending on the design of the stadium it would not be an eyesore, but a marvel. Fact.
