Perhaps there will be those amongst you, men and women of the world, who will be unsurprised at porn's infiltration into our collective being. Others might not soon recover on discovering that, for example, Sunday is the most popular day for, well, looking at naked people perform the same script over and over again with various other naked people.

Not a porn consumer, not any more.

Sorry for offending you. Like the true life John Adams, sometimes I step over the line poking the bear. Trust me that's sincere and though I won't take down my subject line, I'll remove the stuff about your guy in the text of the post.

Thanks man, I do appreciate that. I gotta say, the statistics in that article are a tad disturbing to me. Ever look at the revenues of the porn business in the USA? It's like 2-3 times those of Hollywood.

I'm only willing to be so reasonable. I don't find the stats disturbing except for the 122,000 hits regarding searches for "child porn." Obviously that's disturbing.

But that people are looking at porn a lot doesn't bother me.

$3 billion is big, but nowhere near 2-3 times Hollywood. Disney alone pulls in $6bn from the studio business.

The statistic I've seen (that he's referring to) is that the entire porn industry (movies/websites/fake penises) makes more than the Hollywood Box Office. It's a bit of a apples to oranges comparison but it's one that media outlets love to throw out because people hear it as "Porn movies make more than regular movies."

Yup, that's a stupid comparison.

Not such a stupid comparison when you consider the merchandising associated with above-the-board movies.

Do we really need to censor THIS board? Anybody who posts here regularly should know what goes on...

JA chose to change his own post and thread title. That's not censorship.

If you don't like the fact that he changed his own thread title and post...I'm sure he doesn't give a ****. His thread, his post, his choice, !@#$ you.

There are many who claim that porn also drives new technolgy video players, dvd's, the internet, smart phones, etc. I can't go into reasons why or how but suffice it to say that my work gives me a window to what kind of traffic moves across parts of the internet. No a shock to know that the bulk of it is streaming porn. Supposedly "mainline" companies make a significant amount of revenue from it. I am not passing judgement with the comments just pointing out the situation.

I was speaking precisely of his self-censorship. It was a comment for the OP, and of course he may do as he wishes. Especially if he avoids bringing up wives, mothers and girlfriends.

Actually, you were speaking precisely of censoring the board.
