  1. What are we gonna do with him? Do you think he is gonna make or break this season? Or that he is the kind of talent you build a team around? The team needs to keep young guys with potential. Reed is an alright receiver, maybe he can help the young guys a bit, but I certainly wouldn't lose sleep if he wasn't on the team, or Parrish or 3/4 of the roster. These are minor concerns in a huge mess, like the house is burning down, and your concerned about the food in the refrigerator. Just about ANY of these guys could be justifiably cut, and it wouldn't effect the upcoming season. If it's because you like Reed as a player and a person, the best thing that could happen to him is getting cut/traded to another team that might win a few games. He is currently just in limbo with the Bills, going nowhere.
  2. I never said the NFL game is simple. I also didn't mention that I felt they should win. I do feel that Trent should be able to pull at least a few downfield completions out of his @&&. You are obviously a Trent apologist. I think he should be able pass the ball more effectively than he has been, and I don't believe that the OC is holding him back. The play calls aren't that out of the ordinary, or any moreso than what Roesthlisberger (or the backups) or most of the league is using in preseason, yet other poorly coached teams seem to manage a touchdown at some point. Trent is just not getting the ball to the guys downfield. Get back to me after the first 4 weeks of the season, and we'll see how well your boy Trent is doing....
  3. Maybe he has been doing just that, how would you know?
  4. Yep, I had even lower expectations. I would have liked to have seen the first-string get a touchdown. I wonder how many teams have gone the entire preseason with a touchdown from the first team, yet still made the playoffs. Can't be many, if any...
  5. Exactly!!! That is my biggest fear, they will bring in another half-assed QB
  6. I really don't think Turk is holding him back. Sure Turk might be lame, but how many pass plays has TE succesfully executed? I think playcalling is overrated outside of specific situations (short yardage, red zone, running the clock out, etc), but we are talking about 1st down at your 30 in the 1st quarter. You run some plays and you can either execute and move the chains, or not. These guys just FAIL.
  7. Who cares? I'm about as interested in the Roscoe Parrish subplot as I am in who the placeholder is going to be. They have way more serious problems than choosing between Roscoe and some other WR. It's not gonna make much difference whether he comes, goes, is injured, or just returns punts.
  8. The thing is, we KNOW the coaches stink, but that's not ENOUGH of an excuse, he still should be able to complete some passes downfield! I don't think it is arm strength, it's more being able to understand how a particular play should develop and unfold in relation to the defensive set (and the skills of the players on the defense) to know where and when to throw the ball. A receiver is often covered at the time the ball is thrown, but a good QB knows at what point in the receiver's route he he should be open. It's timing, and trusting yourself and the receiver. Trent doesn't have it, JP didn't have it...
  9. Derk Anderson ain't gonna get it done either! There's nothing out there, Trent's the guy and this season is a waste of time!
  10. It's not the plays. It's the QB. They could have Hines Ward, Randy Moss and Antonio Gates out there, and the offense would still suck because Trent doesn't get the ball to the receivers downfield. I'm sure Turk is calling plays that are designed to get downfield, but TE isn't getting it done.
  11. You're right of course, but I thought this BEFORE the the preseason, back when Cutler was available. And while there are guys better , most aren't good enough to lead a team to a Super Bowl (I believe Cutler is/will be), and I feel that it is another strike against the front office for not going after Cutler. They had an opportunity to improve this team, but passed on it.
  12. They could have traded for Culter. He is way better than TE, and good enough to win a Super Bowl.
  13. Which Super Bowl are you talking about? I liked those early 80's teams, but I didn't think they were gonna win any Super Bowls.
  14. Well liked by the players, blahblahblah. I'm sure DJ is a good position coach/coordinator, but he just isn't a head coach. It's just not going anywhere.
  15. You're dreaming. He is no "natural" being held back by the coaches. They have been asking him to take more chances! He doesn't have any real competition for the starting job breathing down his back. The keys were given to him and he can't handle driving on the freeway, only on the side streets.
  16. Yes, I know Leftwich blows, it's just that TE blows worse. All those guys are backups.
  17. Leftwich is gonna outperform Edwards this season. TE will end up a journeyman backup (Leftwich is pretty much that, but still better than TE).
  18. Kay Stephenson. That's who I think of everytime I see DJ.
  19. Yeah, but I doubt these Bills can beat them even without Brady, so the loss would hurt that much more.
  20. Worked for T. Owens before that Philly Super Bowl a few years ago. Funny, the media never really questioned how he could recover so quickly. I think that HGH should be allowed following surgery, and a set amount of games that a player would have to sit out.
  21. I hope Bell is as good aas people here hope, but I haven't seen him in a real game going against a top DE. Right now the guys he is playing against and impressing the coaches, are the pathetic linemen on this below-par Bills defensive line (the same guys everyone rips all over this board. It's hard to get a real gauge of his skills when he is lining up against Ryan Denney.
  22. Thoase are my favorite uniforms. Love that shade of blue. The best thing visually though was NO PERMANENT GRAPHICS on the screen. It looks so much better.
  23. Buffalobills.com? Literally the company line. The line is where they have made the most changes,, so the old line makes a good scapegoat. I doubt the line play this year will be significantly better. We can point the finger in ten different directions and always be right. The team just isn't/hasn't been good. If they could get the ball down the field a screen would have been easy to run. If they could protect the QB, they could get the ball down the field. If the receivers could get open, there would be less pressure on the QB. If the QB could throw accurately/or downfield, the running game could move the chains. Blah blah blah.... Lots of problems, but this team needs a real good QB or nothing will happen.
  24. Leftwich is better than Edwards (not that it's saying much). At least he wasn't afraid to throw the ball downfeild. I know his shortcomings ( takes too many sacks). Still better than Edwards.
