For the first time this season I actually was emotionally invested in caring that they won. You could still see that they don't have enough big physical players when Toronto would win the battles along the boards, and Toronto had the puck for too long, but at least they were hustling and picking up the open players to deny quality shots. Even the fourth line had some good forecheck and cycle, and Ted rewarded them by giving them ice through the third period. I still didn't see much compete from Leino, and McBain is a defensive liability. I'd like to see them waived and replaced with Luke Adam and McNabb.

Jeremy thinks he knows more than everyone else on the show, and whenever his opinion is challanged he gets snarky and loud like a petulant teenager. It was nice to hear someone who he couldn't hang up on or speak over put him in his place.

Technically Nolan wasn't fired. Darcy only offered him a 1 year contract after he won coach of the year, and he turned it down. It was a move by Darcy to get rid of a coach who wasn't afraid to challenge a GM. Plus Hasek didn't like Nolan, and it was suspected that Hasek faked an injury in the playoffs.

This is what Pagula should have done when he bought the team. My hope is restored. Wish they had done this before Vanek was traded. Kaleta is Ted's type of player, hopefully this gives him a fresh chance.

I've heard some analysts say Manzel will drop to the 2nd round, partially based on attitude. I think they'll target WR in 1st and maybe pick QB in 2nd if Manuel doesn't improve.

My family moved from Buffalo to Syracuse when I was 10 years old, and I was just starting to get interested in pro sports. Kids in my new school would mock me for rooting for those losers from Buffalo. I took it as a challenge that I'd show them I was right. Plus I couldn't imagine how people could root for a team like Dallas or Miami that they had no relation to other than them being good at the time. They weren't real fans like I was. It's become part of who I am, I couldn't stop if I wanted to. Now I've passed it on to my son, and unfortunately he now experiences the same disappointment with the Bills and Sabres. At least he didn't have to experience the loss of the Braves.

The fans weren't horrible, the team was mismanaged. Cleveland has been bad for years in terms of teams not winning. But Miami fans are probably the worst because they only show up of the team is winning.

I'm going out on a limb and predicting next week's game will not be a sellout.

Sabres continue to get burned by penalties, while their best penalty killer is stuck in reeducation camp in Rochester. I feel bad for Moulson, traded from a possible playoff team to being benched with his underachieving linemates Hodgson and Ennis. Their highest paid forward Leino was a healthy scratch. I will give kudos to McCormick for being their best forward over the past few games. Amazing what can be done when limited talent plays with passion and desire. As the last in league standings Sabres continue to be coached by Roulston, the three teams closest to them at the bottom have all replaced their coaches in the past few months (Edmonton, Philly, and Florida). Another head scratcher from the owner Mr Magoola.

It makes no sense to sit the young players and play veterans who are not part of the long term solution. They might as well send Zadorov and Girgerinko back to juniors and let them play if this is their strategy. I'd rather they lose with inexperienced rookies than uninspired veterans.
