If you choose not to believe any of it, then that's your choice. -

Terry also said when he bought the Sabres that Lindy & Darcy were not going anywhere and look what happened two years later... -

IMO, the defense gave up on him. The scheme was overly complicated and the players were done with him. There's that rumor as well as the one at the start of the season that if the Bills didn't make the playoffs, Rex was gone. Coincidence, speculation or leak from inside OBD? (cue the X-files music). -

I agree 100% There's nothing to argue about that. But how did this info get out to the media weeks before the Miami game is the $64,000 question? -

Then how did that info get out? Somebody from OBD told that to the media. Or are you saying it's just coincidence that reports came out about Rex getting fired, then a few weeks later, it actually happens? Bills would still order the wrong one. -
Bills are a joke of an organization

I have no problems with the Bills taking a shot on a guy as we've seen some guys drafted between rounds two thru six become good QB's, but the draft is a crap shoot. IMO, the Bills gave up way too soon on EJ. Are there busts at the top, sure, but there are more QB's that don't workout out in the lower rounds as well (most of those guys become backups). But the Bills, including Whaley have made some terrible decisions over the years. I like Watkins, but trading up to grab a WR in a heavy WR draft was stupid. If the Bills were going to trade up, it should have been for a player like Mack, not when there are other elite WR's that could have been selected at the Bills original position. Brandon ranting and raving a few years ago about the Bills image being tarnished and that he would leave no stone unturned to find a HC, but settles on the third guy he interviews (shouldn't Whaley have been the one to choose his HC then). Brandon was infatuated with Rex and said "don't let this guy out the door," plus gave Rex hints to woo the Pegula's over (they like red wine), shouldn't the choice for HC been Whaley's? +1 -

That something the Bills need, is an elite QB to compete in the AFC East. Whether that's trading for a veteran like Brees, or trading up to get to the top of the draft when an elite prospect is available. I think that's around the time I started watching the Bills (sometime during the Chuck Knox era). The one that sticks out to me is winning the AFC East in 1988. -

Hi Doug Marrone, I see you're back on TBD. -

It's not because the Bills haven't made it to the playoffs in 17 years, it's the actions they make which I feel makes them look foolish. And as far as expectations, it just seems that the Bills just want to make it to the playoffs, nothing further. That's been the goal for over a decade, just make it to the playoffs, that's a terrible goal. So what, if the Bills make it to the playoffs, are the fans going to tear the goal posts down at New Era Field? The HC get a key to the City? The City throws a parade for the team? -

Do you really think an organization like the Patriots, Steelers or Packers would leak to the media that they're going to be firing their HC with a few weeks left in the season, making the coach a lame duck coach and having the coach answer questions about his future for a few weeks? -
Bills are a joke of an organization
Jerry Jabber replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Because that's what people do on a message board, discuss topics... Did you hear the press conference today? Have you been paying attention to what's being said in the media about the HC getting fired before the end of the season? -
One thing is for sure, the Bills are a joke of an organization. The fed Anthony Lynn to the wolves today and he stumbled over the question about EJ playing, which he had to back track as he tried not to throw his employers under the bus. The way they leaked info to the media weeks ago about Rex getting fired is embarrassing. What respectable coach would want to work for an organization that does things like that to their employees? The only thing different between the Bills and Browns are their win/loss record, otherwise both organizations are poorly managed and do the most asinine things. I have zero confidence that whoever the Bills hire as HC will be able to make it to the playoffs. How long do you give the Pegula's to finally blow everything up like they did with the Sabres and clean house (meaning Whaley & his HC get canned)? I'm going with less than two full seasons.

Kryk: Firing Rex Ryan not enough, it's time to clean house
Jerry Jabber replied to Rico's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Littman and Overdorff are part of the "we've always done it like this" crowd. For any business to have the "we've always done it like this" mentality is the wrong mentality to have as there are other businesses that looking to beat out their competition by doing things newer, better and more efficient. Businesses with the "we've always done it like this" mentality lose money and go out of business. Brandon has been here all 17 years. While he did a great job of marketing the team and helped with the sale of the team, he's been here for every year of the playoff drought. His tenure as GM was absolutely terrible. He ranted and raved about how the Bills brand was tarnished and that he "would leave no stone unturned" in finding a new HC, but settled on the third guy he interviewed [Marrone]. Next, he was infatuated with Rex and gave Rex hints on how to woo the Pegula's over. While I highly doubt those three will be fired anytime soon, I feel they should be. If the Pegula's want to be a highly successful organization, then they need to clean house and have better people running their organization. If you're organization delivered a terrible product for 17 years, would you just fire the low-man on the totem pole that's only been here for two years, or the people that have been around for the entirety of when the bad product began? -

Jerry Jabber replied to Rico's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ryan shouldn’t be the only one getting fired. Littman, Overdorff, Whaley and most importantly, Russ Brandon all need to go. They’ve been here for all 17 years and need to be canned. I like the Pegula’s and believe they will do whatever it takes to bring a Superbowl to Buffalo, but they need people who know how to get the job done, not these clowns that have been screwing up the organization for years. -
How do the Bills get an elite QB?
Jerry Jabber replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's nine QB's out of 32 teams, which equates to 28.1% Even more reason why teams will have more luck drafting a QB at the top of the draft vice rounds two thru seven. -
How do the Bills get an elite QB?
Jerry Jabber replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If there were "sure thing" QB's in the third or fourth rounds every year, then every team would have a franchise QB already. Guys like Wilson and Prescott are NOT available every year! The Bills traded for high draft picks for Bledsoe and that made the team a playoff contender two out of the three years he was here. The only other thing the Bills haven't tried is drafting a QB at the top of the draft (Top 3). Look at the Bucs and Titans, those teams were terrible for some time and this year they were playoff contenders with their QB's being in year two of the league. The Bills need a QB of that caliber. More times than not, a franchise QB is going to be at the top of the draft than they are at rounds three and four. -

[quote name="PolishDave" post="4182744" timestamp="1482876202You can either recognize talent or you can't. And if you can, you can get it in every round. It's apparent that Bills have been able to consistently identity talent at the QB position for almost 20 years now. Otherwise this wouldn't even be an issue. -
How do the Bills get an elite QB?
Jerry Jabber replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The only other alternative would be to tank for a couple of years to draft an elite QB -
Since Brady & Belichek have been around, the rest of the AFC East has not had an elite/very good QB. The only way the Bills are going to have a real shot of competing against the Patriots is to have an elite QB that can pass for 300-400 yards and put more than 30 points against them. Should the Bills contact the Saints and try and trade for Brees (it would take some high draft picks) or wait two or three years and trade up in the draft when an elite collegeQB is available at the top of the draft (would take a few #1 draft picks)?
