  1. OBJ is a big question mark. A multi year deal would take that into account and unless a team is stupid they aren't going to pay him what he could get if he was healthy. If he has faith in himself and is confident that he will return to the player he was then he should be willing to sign a contract that is a "prove it" deal. If he insists on a longer term deal with a bunch of guaranteed money then I would question what he has left. If that faith is there with him there aren't too many situations better than the Bills. Josh Allen as his QB and Diggs to draw the double teams?
  2. The coaching staff wanted to get Rhodes plenty of playing time to see what they have in him.
  3. https://www.buffalobills.com/news/bills-today-stefon-diggs-cole-beasley-rank-here-on-this-top-pass-catching-tandem 2020 Season: 5. Stefon Diggs + Cole Beasley, Buffalo Bills Buffalo's passing offense returns the reigning highest-graded outside receiver, Stefon Diggs, and the second-highest-graded slot receiver, Cole Beasley. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Beasley is the NFL slot receiver prototype. He ran 88.4% of his routes from the inside last season, the third-highest rate in the league. On those reps, he racked up 2.31 yards per route and 938 receiving yards while hauling in 83.9% of his targets en route to a 90.8 receiving grade. All four marks ranked inside the top three among league qualifiers.
  4. I'm using 4 catches on 5 targets as a statistic woefully short of making any factual assumptions. Remember, you stated this: "and looked completely done as a receiver in his limited time with Tampa. It's over. He isn't welcome back here."
  5. So, if O.J. still had the same skills as he had in his prime you'd be OK with bringing him back?
  6. Seriously? Look at the below Tampa stats and reconcile those with your comments. In 2 games he was targeted 5 times and caught 4 of those from a QB that actually is playing like he's washed up. 2022 TB2——5 4 17 4.25—51 One might think that based on facts your sentiment that "he isn't welcome back here" is based on something other than stats.
  7. Seems like a contradiction or if not that, a classic example of situational ethics. Below, see his stats while with the Bills. If I remember correctly, Beasley was regarded in at least one publication as the top slot receiver in 2020. Regardless, Josh and he seemed to always be on the same page and Beasley knew how to move the sticks. We saw in the most recent game against the Lions when Shakir? and Allen were not on that same page and the WR settled down in the middle of the field when Josh expected him to continue his crossing pattern. Except for a little luck the pass would have been intercepted. Anyway, Beasley was a rock and played for the Bills when he was really hurt and received a bunch of crap because he believed that he should be able to exert some control over what went into his body. The fact remains that you, I or anyone else on the outside have no clue as to what really transpired between Beasley and the Bills or Bucs. The claim by people that he is washed up has no basis in reality and seems to be more confirmation bias and a fit for a preconceived narrative than something based on fact. 2019Buf15.00-067 778 11.66 2020Buf15.00-082 967 11.84 2021Buf16.00-082 693 8.51
  8. Not at this time. He has already lost a ton of endorsement money that he could have made without the lawsuits and bad press. I'm sure he had to get rid of the lawsuits before signing that ridiculous contract.
  9. While I'm not trying to speak for anyone else or put words in their mouth, it seems like some people think that it is irrational for someone to have an aversion to a man servicing another man. While it's not in my bucket list personally, each to their own..................................I guess.
  10. The officials count the players on the field before the snap but what with all of the movement after the snap it would be difficult to throw a flag unless an official actually sees a player enter the field of play during the action.
  11. For a long time the regular seasons consisted of 14 games. Unfortunately that makes comparing the statistics more difficult. On the other hand all the teams played under those parameters. One would expect with the new 17 game seasons (and probable 18 games in the near future) that 52 number will grow rapidly.
  12. Although obtaining the overall 1 seed in the AFC is desirable and certainly would give the Bills the edge, most importantly the Bills need to get healthy and enter the playoffs at their peak performance level. They were the consensus SB favorite before the season and up until injuries hit them really hard they were "the team to beat". Their secondary was decimated and at times they were starting rookie cornerbacks and doing so without one of their pro bowl safeties. They played games without their other pro bowl safety too. Their offensive line has been playing some backups and the last few games Josh Allen, even with gutsy performances, has had trouble throwing the short passes and the offense has not been playing their usual game. The Bill's defense is actually somewhat dependent upon their offense getting a decent lead and allowing them to shut down their opponents when they become one dimensional. Early on in the season we statistically had the best defense but it is my opinion that the Bill's offense allowed them to do what they do best in order to attain that ranking. Look back to the Packer's game. We had a pretty big lead at halftime and I'm willing to bet that most Bill's fans were stunned when the Pack didn't air it out and continued running the ball. It looked like all they were doing was shortening the game and running out the clock for our benefit. In retrospect, I think they knew that they weren't going to win the game with only the pass and hoped that they could get the game close and we might make a mistake or two. Anyway, we won the game but it was closer than it should have been mainly because our offense only scored 3 points in the 2nd half.
  13. SOMETHING TO KEEP IN MIND: The Bill's defense is designed to be really good when the Bill's offense is clicking. The idea is to get ahead and turn the opponent one dimensional. While that may seem simplistic and what all teams want to do the Bills actually do it often. Other than the freakish, unlucky loss to the Vikings we only lost this year when we didn't score more than 20 points. We obviously have suffered injuries to critical players and sometimes their replacements. Our defense is such (what with injuries) that it can't go on the field and dominate, which normally would be OK if our offense was firing on all cylinders. It's no secret that we need Josh to heal up his elbow in order to really start clicking again. I think that the Bills are good enough that if they heal up fast they can still be in the running for top seed with an excellent chance in the playoffs.
  14. I don't think what you wrote is what you meant. Anyway, pros and especially pros who are name QB's do their perceptions and their pocketbooks real damage by acting like jerks and making comments that can be construed as inappropriate or lewd. These guys need to protect their image in order to cash in now and after they retire. Guys like Peyton Manning and Shaq are good examples for big name athletes to emulate.
  15. Regarding Raven's WR's and Jackson one must consider that the team had to design an offense with Greg Roman and his running scheme in order to best use Jackson. It's pretty obvious that he has his limitations in the passing game. Good free agent WR's aren't normally standing in line to sign with the Ravens so not only is their passing game somewhat limited by Jackson but they typically don't have the best WR's. A good defense will limit Jackson's effectiveness and make it clear that he's no 40 million a year guy. To guarantee him anything more than half of his yet to be negotiated contract what with his forte being running the ball seems like a foolish move.
  16. Yes, his problem is between his ears but it's also an athletic problem because he refuses to exercise his brain.
  17. Hell of a player. I Googled Bill's pro bowl CB's hoping to find the name of the great one back in the 70's or 80's that was injured and had to leave the game. Nates name came up and it brought back memories from a home game against the Raiders when Nate just plucked the ball out of the receiver's possession and it seemed like the whole stadium was momentarily silent and asking "what just happened"?
  18. Was he even offered a contract or if so was it low enough to encourage him to go to free agency?
  19. I never could see why any team could have thought that Hackett would be a good head coach.
  20. The Dolphins 49'ers game jumped out at me. SF has a super defense and from what I've seen Miami's offense is playing over their head. It'll be interesting to see how SF defends them.
  21. They are both words with completely different meanings.
