  1. From the other thread titled "***UPDATE***" I'm ready and waiting! Glad to be back on track!
  2. Malcolm Kelly = Dwayne Jarrett Wow, that's a slap in the face! I know the jury is still out on Jarrett, but so far he has been horrendous.
  3. I like Allen because of what he brings to the pass rush, but top 5 defender in the league? I'm afraid to ask who the other 4 are in your book? I wouldn't mind having him here, but I'm guessing KC is looking for a lot to trade him.
  4. This goes out to all you knuckleheads who think that it would be a good idea to draft a Tight End (I don't care who it is) in round 2... NO! There is no other way to say it. It's a bad idea. We have Robert Royal (ehhh) and 5 other guys who play that position. We do not need a Tight End to "open up our offense" or be there becasue "Trent likes to rely on his Tight End." Every draft-related thread around here is littered with this same insane idea. It's not going to happen... Here is what I'm willing to do. If the Bills draft a Tight End in rounds 1, 2 or 3 I will change (until the '09 draft) my signature to: I AM AN IDIOT AND I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO (Insert name(s) here)! If I am right, and somebody is willing to take this little wager, you have to put "IN ROBERT ROYAL I TRUST!" in your sig until next year. I know it's stupid, but it's time for people to put their money (not really) where their mouth (signature) is! Any takers?
  5. I would love to trade down and pick up the 19th pick overall and Lito Shepard. That would give us either Devin Thomas (who I am not sold on) or Limas Sweed (I feel the need...the need for...you get it.) With that said, we still don't need to draft a tight end in the 2nd round. I can't f-ing believe how many people on this board keep saying that. It's ludicrous!
  6. I don't know if it's legit but I wouldn't mind seeing it. A lot of people forget that Edwards is going into his 2nd season and now he's got a new coordinator. Losman will be here for 1 more year. Why not make it a competition and hope that Edwards wins? If Losman comes out on top you can still start Losman with a short leash and bank on Edwards in 2009.
  7. Everyone knows that McShay gets a hard-on whenever he talks about Devin Thomas. That said...there's no way we take the "one year wonder" at #11. It's not happening. Not even our front office is that stupid. You don't have to worry about getting sick because it's not going to happen.
  8. I don't see Kelly being our pick. His freefall has him in the late 2nd round to the early third. Round 2 would still be a reach for him. What Modrak didn't say is WHERE on their board Kelly was. His 40 time didn't affect his position on their board because he was at the bottom next Mario Manningham under the heading "Avoid Like The Plague"...
  9. I don't know if McKelvin is going to be there at #11. A lot of people are saying that DRC is dropping out of the top 15 and that McKelvin and Talib are on their way up. I like the idea of taking the best player available (Branden Albert, McKelvin, Keith Rivers, Derrick Harvey) in the 1st and drafting a WR in the second. Hopefully a guy like Hardy is still available when we pick in the 2nd round.
  10. No freakin' way. Just because there are no Calvin Johnson's in this draft doesn't mean we should start banking on Jacoby Jones. We can't afford to wait until rounds 3 and 4 to get a wideout. It's just plain silly. Round 1 you take the BPA which will not be a WR. Round 2 you have to go for the best WR on your draft board. If you wait until round 3 or 4 "hoping" that Malcolm Kelly or Manningham or whoever will be there you are shooting yourself in the foot. You don't know they'll be there and you're probably going to be left with nothing. We have to address the WR position in either the 1st (if we trade down) or the second round (James Hardy, please.) P.S. Whoever thinks that Derrick Harvey is a top pass-rusher or the next Dwight Freeney is smoking something illegal...he is a solid all-around player who plays well against the pass and the run. We already have two of those guys in Schobel and Kelsay. I agree that Harvey looks good and has a lot of potential to develop into a premiere pass-rusher, but so far he has not been stellar in that category.
  11. There's no rush to sign him up right now. Right now the team needs to focus on the draft and the upcoming season. We have all of this year to come to an agreement with Lee. If we add a nice, new weapon or two in the draft, Lee may WANT to stay more which will make negotiating easier. If our rookie wideout has a fantabulous season, we may not want to sign Lee long term (I'm not saying that will happen or that I want it to happen.) The bottom line is that we have more pressing needs RIGHT NOW and can address Lee's extension at a later date.
  12. Does anyone know what is going on with the draft? Are we going to keep going with it, or is it dead in the water?
  13. I agree. It's a 7 hour drive for me and I come in full force every year with my family & friends. It's not the same. Squish the fish, eh! I agree, I just don't know about "the list" that the season ticket holders were put on. I want to go to the game, but I have no faith that I'm going to get a chance to buy tickets to that game.
  14. I'm going (I think.) It's not part of the season ticket package but season ticket holders get first dibs on tickets (allegedly.) My name is on some sort of list and they are going to call me. We'll see what happens. All in all, I like the schedule. I'm glad we have another Monday nighter but I'm upset about the Fish game being in Toronto. I guess that's the NFL's way of coming to a compromise.
  15. That Bengals GM is one savvy guy. He's waaaaayyy better than Bill Polian.
  16. Mine too! If anyone on here reads ESPN's Bill Simmons, one of his readers e-mailed in this gem: During the NFL draft, will the final shame of SpyGate arrive if the NFL decides to make the Pats sit there uncomfortably for the entire 10 minutes for the 31st pick they can't use? -- Paul M., Boston SG: You know, even as a Patriots fan, I appreciate the comedy here. The clock could be counting down as ESPN repeatedly showed our war room glancing around like high school kids waiting to get called into the principal's office, and Chris Berman could be saying things like, "Four minutes to go for No. 31, and again ... (overly dramatic pause) ... T.J., Mort, Mel, you really have to hope Belichick and the Patriots learned their lesson here ..."
  17. PFT just posted a new "Draft Value Chart" that is allegedly making the rounds this year. This will give you an idea of what each pick is valued at. That way you know what it would take for a team to trade up with us (so we could move back in round 1) or for us to trade up and get another pick in the 1st.
  18. This sucks. How did we just skip 3 teams? Does anyone know what the hell is going on around here?
  19. I still don't see Devin Thomas going that high. I'd love to have him on the Bills, but it just seems too high for a possible "one-year wonder."
  20. The guy sounds like a steal in Round 3. I doubt he lasts that long in the draft and I don't see the Bills waiting that long to address the WR position. I wouldn't mind having him on our team but I'd rather get a guy like Sweed or Devin Thomas.
  21. NO! A. The guy is a problem and can't stay out of trouble. How can anyone expect him to "turn himself around" all of a sudden. B. Whoever claims that he is "one of the greatest corners in NFL history" should stop playing Madden and start watching football. C. The Cowboys reportedly upped their offer to 3rd round pick. Too high for such a risky addition. D. We're a rebuilding team with a lot of young players. You don't bring a cancer like Pacman into that locker room, it's just plain stupid. E. He's overrated. The only reason why people think he's good because they see his name all over ESPN. The guy sucks.
  22. It looks like it's going to be Sweed. Come on! Where are all my fellow Merling supporters?
  23. This is true. This just proves (kind of) my theory that the Bills have the crappiest spot in the draft this year. All of the top guys will be gone in the top 10 and we get to pick the best of the leftovers. There are no 'guarantees" in this weak draft class beyond McFadden. It's pathetic.
  24. I know we're only doing a three round mock. I'm approaching this thing as if it were the real deal. There's no way I'm making a deal without giving up my own picks if I'm only using the first 3 rounds. Even though it won't play out on the board, I wanted to get a little more for Chad than a 2nd rounder. As far as I know, that's fair. Right?
