1) Marcell Dareus DT/Alabama
2) James Carpenter OT/Alabama
3) Luke Stocker TE/Tennessee
http://www.draftcountdown.com/sub/Mock-Draft-3.php
I dunno bout you but I'd be pretty happy with 2 of the 3 picks. Would prefer a QB at 2.
I could live with this, but TE (Rudolph) in round 2 and OT in 3 would be better.

1. NO CB or WR at #3. If the Bills have a great grade on Newton or Gabbert, fine. If not, DL or OLB.
2. Do NOT trade back into the 1st round. The further you go into the draft, the more of a crapshoot it is. They are not in a position to be pissing away extra picks to move up from #34 back into the 1st round.
+1 minus Gabbert (or atleast not @ 3)

1) Von Miller Texas A&M
2) Christian Ponder FSU
3) James Carpenter OT Alabama
Hoping they can trade down and PRAYING they don't trade back into bottom of round 1. Otherwise you can deposit the money directly into my Pokerstars account...oh wait, nevermind

We got our scheme versatile, run plugger in Dareus. No point in even looking at Cam Heyward now.
Now we need to finish the defensive shopping list and get our pass rusher.
We're very fortunate that their are three very good pass rushers still available…Brooks Reed, Justin Houston, and Jabaal Sheard.
I'd be happy with any of the three.
Sheard is my pick. Not as heralded as the other two but a very gifted, talented player with no downside and a very high upside.
http://draftbreakdow...t-jabaal-sheard
He is one of this drafts under the radar prospects and has superstar potential.
+1 except I went with Houston.
Martinez theILB makes sense also, as would the TE or OT...Still so many damn needs!

how is this a smokescreen?
so a team wants to move up, they think of possible trade partners and gm's say, "oh the bills would love to pick 2 picks higher, maybe they want to move 4 picks down?"
+1 It doesn't sound like he's thinking of trading down, also this just makes me think he wants Newton.
-
How about an OT that can be an OT?
+1 please , I went with oline but TACKLE would have been better.

Just got the latest issue of Bills Digest. As has been the case for the last few years, there was a pre-draft question and answer column with supposed draft guru Russ Lande, who writes for the Sporting News.
His pick for the Bills? OT Anthony Castonzo of Boston College. Can't say I've seen this one before.
Nothing personal, but thank GOD you're not NEVERGIVEUP!

I was just reading some info on how the Bills maybe drafting their QB of the future, which made me start to think about Rob Johnson. I remember when they trade a 1st and 4th for him I thought they found a real gem. I remember all the practice highlights on the empire sports network, wow. If things went as planned back then we would be preparing for his replacement to start by now. However 13 years later were still looking for our QB of the future.
Ah those were the days: A good/very good GM, a pretty good defense, and a potential franchise QB. Oh how the times have changed.

You know there going to end up taking a QB.....whether you like it or not
I can live with a QB, please no more Db's not now and not here @ #3.
-
Okay Tomcat, here's my 1st attempt:
1: Cam Newton QB---> Carolina
2: Blaine Gabbert QB---> San Fran
3: Von Miller LB ---> Denver
4: Gabe Carimi OT ---> Indianapolis
5: Kyle Rudolph TE ---> Atlanta
Version 3.0
1.0 was BG --> Zona
KR --> STL

He can play DL and OT?!?
DRAFT HIM!
Almost more importantly, maybe we should hire Coleman as a scout. Who else does he like?
-
I Shaarrttt bigger than you!
OR
Are you using that KAZOO as a maxipad?
-
has us taking Miller at 3 and Derek Sherrod, OT, Mississippi St. in round 2
He has Darius taken @ 2 so I don't hate the Miller selection. Ot would also work in round 2 so would the ILb Martinez.
This team still has way too many needs to be covered in 1 draft. Hopefully we get some help in FA as well.

Kirwin from NFL.com stated that Gabbert's completion % beyond 15 yards is 30%. He issued this statement in a neagtive tone while doing a piece on Mallett. He didn't state what Mallett's % was and didn't state what it should be or what was an average %.
My question is does this bother anyone who thinks Gabbert is the real deal? Or is this just a bad stat because he didn't have much to work with @ Mizzou?
Thoughts?

I could see the Bills taking him at #35. Especially if they take a DT or QB at #3.
Maybe his drug suspension from 2 years ago keeps him out of the 1st round. He would be a nice get in the 2nd.
-
Good. Maybe now the draft can be completed all in one day. As an added bonus, Jest fans will be deprived of making idiots of themselves on national TV. Don't need the players there anyway.
But somebody should let the (former) union know that this is a stupid way of currying favor with the fans.
GO BILLS!!!
Also the drafted players aren't memebers of the "union" till they sign their 1st contract.
Only 10-15 players ,per year, get to walk out on that stage. Why would the union want to take this away from the draftees and the famalies after all their hard work.
The 'union' is looking dumber and dumber by the day.

What he says and what he does on draft day when the phone rings are two different things altogether.
Did you predict the Spiller pick too?
He wont be answering the phone. He'll either be napping or he'll have the selection run up to the podium with .05 seconds removed from the allotted 10 minutes.

Seeing it on mock drafts post-combine and post-Auburn pro day. Let the Gabbert hype begin!
Can't help but to think of the possibility of getting at least an extra 2nd rounder and an extra 3rd rounder if Gabbert comes off the board #1. Any team that seriously wants Newton has to trade up to get ahead of Cincy who very publicly needs a new QB. Teams 5-12 most likely to be the ones to move. I think Newton is the only one that would warrant the move to #3.
One of the following players would be there at 5-12: Cam Jordan, Quinn, JJ Watt, Bowers....or even Fairley (I'm leaving out Von Miller (because I think he's Von Maybin...but don't want to debate that now).
When you think about one of those players with the first rounder....combined with our probable 2 picks in 2, 3 and 4: we could wind up with 7 players in rounds 1-4. theres a LOT of ways we could draft in those 7.
What do you think?
Hey, lookie another trade down post, awesome! Nix has stated publicly that he wont trade down.
-
Ill give you a 50%.
"Though there's only a 10% chance of that"

A millionaire going to house parties with a gun?
Some people will never learn. Ignorance and immaturity at its best.
Stuff like this just leaves the NFL a black eye. Money doesn't make you smarter or change what you are.

It's almost a universal truth that the B B's need linemen (or even linewomen, if they're better than the current bunch....). Once the basic building blocks are in place, all else will flow. Why one even considers taking a QB at #3 is just beyond me.
I agree but QB> CB just please no more DB's. It'll feel like Detroit with all those dam Wr's

http://www.nfl.com/draft/history/fulldraft?teamId=0610&type=team
There is a list of all our draft years, we had a couple really good ones and looking over it... wow a lot of bad ones.
whats your pick?
best i would say 85 is for me
worst (so many to pick) 93 (i know its an odd pick) but thomas smith was a big bust to me
85 was the best by far and 2000 could be the worst but there are so may to choose from!
Also does anyone remember how we ended up w 2 1's, 2 2's, 2 3's & 2 4's in 1985? that looks like NE* this year.

Most Bills fans decry the Donte Whitner pick, especially since Haloti Ngata was "on the board". So if the labor issue makes the draft precede the free agent signing period, should the Bills make a substancial move to sign Holoti Ngata by offering a deal Baltimore can't match, thereby getting, arguably, the best DL in the NFL, and NOT having to compensate the Ravens until the 2012 and 2013 drafts! Think about it, this draft would be untouchable, and the talent needed could now be spread out between offensive and defensive needs equally, if necessary!! Think of a line of Kyle Williams and Ngata at the DT spots with Carrington at one end and say, oh, Da'Quan Bowers at the other. LB's and CB's can be added later on in this draft! Just proposing an idea I had today! Thoughts?!?!
Note: He is the ONLY guy in free agency that might actually be worth two #1's, IMO!
Even RW doesnt have enough cash to fix all the 'wrongs' he and his front office have made.

I've read so many people talking about the pregame and how we should or shouldn't have read the Declearation that I am amazed that the National Athem wasn't even sang right. I was in the service for 20 years and retired now for a few, and I will say this. I have seen countries hate us while we tried or thought we were helping. I honestly lost touch myself in my own patriotism and felt several times beat down and often wondered "What the Hell am I doing?" Then out of the blue something or someone smaks us in the face and let's us know why. I give the NFL HUGE props for what they did because sometimes WE THE PEOPLE FORGET or don't really remember why we do what we do. Any one who has seen a military funeral or a military retirment knows this very well and will never forget the first time they heard it. For civilians out there, how many ever really read or heard the Declerartion of Independence? I really bet the numbers will shock many. So please let's give the NFL bashing of the pregame a rest and just be thankful they opened up our eyes a litle.
I couldn't agree more. Hope you are enjoying your retirement and thanks for your service!

All those choices and a few more! Slide down with someone that is in love with Dalton or Mallet and pick up an extra pick maybe a 4th.
There really isn't a bad choice in that group. All would work, we have tons of holes! I would lean toward OLB (the one from UCLA?) if we stay though.
